Jason Zavoda has made a fairly (though not complete) encyclopedia of all things Greyhawk. It's a great resource when doing research on that world.

Has anyone created a similar resource for the Forgotten Realms?

-Get all of us together in a room, with some pizza, some pretzels, some soda, a computer for each of us, and you'll get something good. In the meantime, A Grand History of the Realms is the next closest thing I can think of.

Sorry to say, a Greyhawk one is much easier to do, because the history only goes back about a thousand years. I'm a fan of both settings, but there is simply too much where the Realms are concerned.

I do believe, with all my heart, that Sage has at least the beginnings of a halfway decent data-base concerning the Realms, since he seems to have the answers always at his fingertips. I've been do something similar, but on a much smaller scale - listing all of the various ethnic groups and the regions they came from (and what other groups they evolved into). Or stuff on the gods, or a list of all the cities, or a list of all the various civilizations that existed with the regions and dates of their rise and fall...

beyond those lists I got nothin' ;)

Wikipedia isn't bad, but it's incomplete. There is also an FR Wiki somewhere, but I don't have the link. Come to think of it, I should write for them... it will help me spread my anti-Goldelfian sentiments. :plotting:

The Forgotten Realms wiki is at http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com. It is by no means complete, but it is progressing nicely with an article count of over 2000.
