| Johnny_Cancer04-12-06, 08:10 PM | I'm playing as a member of an insanely epic group and I've run out of things on my to do list. We pursued a plan formulated by our group's cleric (a Sunmaster of Amaunator), paladin (a Glorious Serviator of Horus-Re), and myself (a Halruaan Wizard) which culminated in a gestalt of Lathander and Horus-Re to form the new Amaunator. With the help of a druid ally and one of our party's fighters, a shield dwarf with a fondness for architecture, my wizard created Vertical Farming: towers with extradimensional floors large enough to hold huge farms on each. With a new god and this huge advancement in farming (that didn't **** off druids) serving as our motivation. We usurped the latest Mulhorandic dynasty, completed their conquest of Unther, and then through a combination of war, diplomacy, bribes, and outright assassination (assassinating some of the more evil individuals in Chessenta and Thay that is) we've created The Solar empire stretching from Thay, down through Mulhorand, west to Chessenta, then southwest through the Shaar and up to Halruaa. We did away with slavery and the slave trade, and have spread the Thayan idea of the enclaves to several more territories. Stabilizing this new empire will occupy us for awhile, but we've already done the usual epic assortment of killing more powerful monsters and hoarding artifacts in a closet. Any other epic groups with cool things to do? |
| Lord_Madrigan04-13-06, 01:40 AM | Make Anarouch Fertile again Slay Cyric,Lolth or Bane Get Khelben to laugh out loud Conquer Undermountian Convince the Harpers & friends not to meddle in the affairs of your empire Steal the shadow weave from Shar and give it to Mystra Find the Missing Elf blades and Return them to the Elves Find the world of origin of the Mulan People |
| anki04-13-06, 02:50 AM | Free Myrkul from Crown of Thorns...and then destroy him!hehe Clear out Myth Drannor. Find the Valley of the Gods! |
| danielmayer04-13-06, 02:50 AM | No! Elfblades already placed for discovery by MEEEE. Not for silly Horus-Re-Freaks or Halruuan wizard-boys. They should play with the Ice-Queen, find the lost Temporal Gates, have a nice talk with Larloch (kind of a kind lich, as he is), talk with Muhlorand empire about their borders, give Halaster a small kick in the ass (just for fun, of course), put a small fire on Elminsters beard (heard that this is a quest to become a chosen of Mask - or was it Finder?), the great Cormanthyr-back-again-campaign should bring many, many hours of gameplay (searching for help: Cormyr, Evermeet, Evereska, Silverymoon, Dales,...), talk to Lord Shadow to step down and give the city to the PCs (nice to have one), etc.etc. But earnestly: adventures for epic PCs are everywhere. Turn over whole politics, gaining real tough enemies, sleep with Simbul (Halruaan wiz always evil, isn't he -err- aren't you?), turning tides with drow: invade Underdark & establish stronghold, etc. Just keep away from me, the Spell-Major in spe ;) |
| Johnny_Cancer04-13-06, 03:35 AM | Hmm, there are some good suggestions here. Personally my own character is done meddling with the divine but some of the other party members might go for it. If we had a bard or just a silly character I'd definatly suggest trying to get Khelben to laugh. We've more or less cleared out Myth Drannor as part of our "find all the artifacts and put them in a closet" ambition. Once we figured out that the golden tree underneath Windsong Tower was in fact a complete set of the Nether Scrolls, we occupied a lot of time finding a way to get them into a readable form as a wish didn't work for us. I'm going to see if I can get the party to pursue fertilizing the Anarouch desert. Maybe do the same for Calimshan while we're at it as that region was also victimized by out of control magic. Edit: Oh and no my wizard isn't evil. Everyone in the party is currently LG, LN, or N. |
| Velkar04-13-06, 02:15 PM | get down the city of the shade and go ask you player too slay the oracle of Elynn'Taal (LN Elder brain lich wizard 31/ Archimage 5 / Netheril Arcanist 5) |
| ClobberinTime04-13-06, 02:39 PM | I didn't hear a peep about killing Iconic NPCs yet, Kill the Simbul and Elminster, your PCs shouldn't rest until they have killed every statted NPC in the FRCS. Don't forget, when you are done your PCs need to log on here to brag about it. There is one Dungeon Adventure for 30th level PCs, Quicksilver Hourglass, Some of the Bad guys are pretty challenging and have upwards of 1500 hps. |
| lavekkia04-13-06, 03:23 PM | research again the magic that created mythallars and raise new enclaves on the sky (you might ask to Iolaum), then maybe face a planetary invasion of the githyanki (Dr309, Dun 100, poly 159), restore the old Jaamdath Empire (Vilhon reach bay), recover the Imaskarcana, free Calim and Memnon then kill them ( or better then enslave them to your orders) |
| ClobberinTime04-13-06, 08:37 PM | I got it, 'Since the Dawn of Time man has wanted to destroy the sun." Have your Pcs do it and throw Toril into darkness, forever, Muhhahahahahahahahha.................. :) |
| Ramar Aulinvox04-13-06, 11:43 PM | Without knowing all the details of your Solar empire and not knowing the levels, I would look to several possibilities: 1. dealing with the Okoth Sarrukh in Mulhorand. 2. you could try and tame the Raurin Desert along w/ the Plains of Purple Dust. 3. The illithids of Oryndoll might not like your new "empire of the sun." This could involve them instigating hundreds of different plots to bring about the fall of the empire. Learning of their involvement would be one part, followed by an attenpt to destroy the city. 4. An Ur-priest or Gilgeam worshiper releases the long baried bodies of the fallen Unther gods (treat as advanced Hunefers [ELH]). 5. Fiendish invasion of some sort (see CoR for Eltab & Dicefreaks has got some really good stuff on ultra-powerful fiends). |
| Johnny_Cancer04-14-06, 10:46 AM | Killing Iconic PC's? Well we did kill all of the Zulkirs except for one of them (and it wasn't Zsass Tam), We also cut a deal with Manshoon which involved killing his old apprentice, the Chosen of Bane Fzoul Chembryl, and Scyllua Darkhope. There was also one crazy skullfaced mo-fo who tried to kill us in Unther but we got him too. Now we're getting into some ideas that our DM would need to plan for, I'm going to copy/paste and email to him. I don't forsee us putting out the sun as three of our five more active PC's worship a Sun God, but some of the other ones sound like real fun. The new Amaunator brings up a strange issue with our Paladin/Pharaoh Semerkhet as he was a descendant of Horus-Re who is now Amaunator which I guess means the descendant pre-dates the ancestor?!? Our party is in the 60-75 range, though things could quickly get out of hand if I decided to read the remaining 45 Nether Scrolls. I'll include the current party of our roster as best I can, but I don't actually know what all classes and levels everyone has. I'll update it after I see them next (which will be around the 24th of this month). We also have several psuedo-active, retired, and outright dead party members. Sorry in advance for any spelling errors in the class names. Meleghost Zormarastar: Male Halruuan LN Wizard 25/Archmage 5/Geometer 5/Green Star Adept 10/Halruaan Elder 10/Lorekeeper 10/Master Alchemist 10/ Deep Diviner 1 Semerkhet: Male Aasimar LG Paladin Horus-Re(Amaunator) 30/Shining Blade of Horus-Re(Amaunator) 10/Divine Crusader 10/? | ClobberinTime04-14-06, 11:00 AM | Well at 70th level, there is only one thing you could do and that is become gods. |
| Johnny_Cancer04-14-06, 11:06 AM | Well at 70th level, there is only one thing you could do and that is become gods. Not really, first of all our cleric and paladin are way into serving their own god. My wizard isn't terribly interested in divine responsability, and the monk more or less follows the lead of the wizard. Maybe Torin wants be a god of architecture though, I don't know. Our DM has scaled a lot of the Iconic NPC's thoughm as it wouldn't make sense for Elminster and the rest to sit at home knitting socks while we're approaching such awesome power. |
| Auburn04-14-06, 11:32 PM | Bring light to the endless night in the Underdark by cleansing it of all the evil races down there. Or invade the Plane of Shadow or something. Explore those unknown lands of Abeir-Toril. Go to that other planet in the solar system ruled by Mindflayers and kick them out. Remake the world in your own image. |
| NightBreeze04-15-06, 07:09 AM | Keep it simple: Build a school for all spellcasters in your empire and use them to make uber-epic spells ( an enormous mythal won't be bad) |
| Odimax04-15-06, 07:34 AM | I am curious to know what level your campaign started at. I was just thinking how insane it would be to play from 1st to 50+. My gaming group is relatively new to third edition. Our most powerful party members are currently 10th level (started at 1st). |
| Johnny_Cancer04-16-06, 06:05 PM | Well I started at level 1 with my character Meleghost Zormarastar. Most of the characters who started with me are retired or dead in some permanent fashion.Torin Cornerstone entered the game at level 5, the Characters of Ramiel and Semerkhet entered the game at level 10 or so. Xuxa Zsasz is the latest character to join who is still a member of the party having joined us at level 25-26. It's this group that has had the most signifigant lawful bent, we used to have a larger group that averaged neutral. We've more or less used as much force as we intend to use to create the Solar Empire, now we're in the process of getting our house in order as it were. We're hoping other nations and city-states will petition us to join based on the power our ideas and ideals. I'm really going to push for finding some method of rejuvinating the various desert wastelands, that was a good idea. Clearing out portions of the Underdark is also very appealing. Schooling the land's wizards to create and use epic spells is not something I intend for Meleghost to pursue, he's more interested the utilitarian uses of magic that will help society at large and could be used by the common folk. Of course Meleghost is a little crazy and wants to turn all the people in the world into a bunch of immortal green constructs like himself, "So all people could live in peace and devote themselves to thought and prayer." |
| JaiaDrottsingr04-16-06, 07:25 PM | Unite the three souls of Karsus so you can destroy him. |
| staples7804-17-06, 08:14 AM | ... If you rethink the 'seek godhood' idea perhaps Meleghost could become the God of Magic Items and Constructs At his current level he is practically a god anyway and taking the portfolio of Magic Items would help spread the use of magic to the common folk. |
| Ozymandias V.04-17-06, 12:23 PM | Giving all the Empire's subjects the ability to use "Prestidigitation" and "Mending" at will as supernatural abilities would be extremely utilitarian. |
| Derren S.04-17-06, 01:53 PM | Drop your campaign and start another one from lvl 1 and tell your DM to be harder on you so you don't run out of challenges too fast. |
| Salaman04-18-06, 08:25 AM | "So our former slaves, the Mulans, finally hold enough power to make worth the risk of coming back and enslaving them again. We will come now, open the portals from our refuge plane to the Realms and rise again! We, the Artificers of Imaskar, are back and we bring with us an old kind of magic to your foul god-poisoned lands. We bring our raw and totally god-clean weave with us. The neutral one. And we will conquer the filthy things of your Mystra and your Shar. Beware, we are back! Just an idea... :D By the way, these Artificers do not need to cast epic spells like Mystra wants them to be cast. They just continue with their spells per day until they are able to cast spells of 25. grade and more. :mage: Kaboom! |
