| zdathen08-11-06, 02:34 PM | I am looking for suggested statistics for a Elven (from Evermeet) Battleship I thought about using the Elven Wing ship in Stormwrack but its statistics were not comporable to the description in FRCS "The elven fleets of Evermeet are made up of swift frigates and sloops that represent the pinnacle of the shipwrights craft on Toril. No human Warship can overhaul an elven vessel under sail or escape it if the elves are inclined to seek battle." any suggestions?? PS also if you have any suggestions about how to make such a ship into a magic item (system wise) I'm interested in that too thanks |
| Old Sage08-11-06, 10:13 PM | There are 2e stats for the various ships used in Evermeet's navy in the 2e Elves of Evermeet supplement. I'm no good with conversions, so you'll likely have to find another poster here who can take a shot at updating the stats for the ships, into 3e. |
| Bloodtide_the_Red08-12-06, 01:24 AM | Saddly, converting the elven navy from 2E into 3e does not get you much. All the fluff about the elven navy is hype, even in 2E. The elven Catamaran(sloop) only had a sailing movement rate of 1 and a rowing rate of 7. Making it the slowlest ship in the sea(though it's faster then a rowboat). Now 2E had 'emergency move', but even that only got the ship up to 2 and 10. Still no match for a Northman warship. The elven swift frigate(Dragonship) had the moves of 3 and 6, that makes them only a tiny bit better the the humans ship(at 2 and 5) and about equal to the human dragonship. So in the rules, there is no real advantage. Unless the elves use magic. In 2E they would easly have a gull totem on all ships, giving each ship double it's movement rate. That would sure let the elves zip around. That has the sloops and frigates twice as fast as the human ships. So, by the book...the elven warships are equal to the human ones. So your can use the Stormwrack stuff. The elven wingship is equal to the old 2E swan ship. Then say 'magic speed' and double there movement rate. Bt |

| dragonheart08-12-06, 02:28 PM | yep - till you add magic your stuck with the natural physical limitations of ships. so elven and human ships should be about the same. then the elves add magic enhancements to power, maneuverability, etc to make their ships faster, stronger and more maneuverable. |
