Why don't you take the stats from the FRCS and update them to 3.5 if needed to?:D She is on P.178 left coulmn, first paragraph.

I prefer to keep major NPC's, like her, without stat's; I seems to give them an untouchable aura, and I like that type of thing.

Well, I wouldn't call Guen a major NPC. Aside from her personality, she is just a magic item like a dozen others of her kind.

As such, I'd rather use the other figurines of wondrous power as a starting point instead of taking the usual approach when statting NPCs. She does deserve to be large size and have a heightened intelligence, but not much else is really needed. Also, with regard to the starting post, celestial template is a bit questionable considering Guen's history. Wasn't she crafted by a fiend or something?

Bazkata,

The stats in the FRCS is of a medium size leopard. Going from the books, she's more than that. She did go against a Balor and did some damage.

Another Gnome,

Guen would be in the class of the Obsidian steed class figurine of wondrous powers. But there is a difference. Based on the stories, she doesn't become the figurine, the figurine becomes a means for her to plane shift. The Celestial template was derived because it was mentioned that her home plane was in a happy hunting ground (good).

Her history can be read in the Realms of Magic Anthology. Short summary (*** SPOILERS ***)

Whiskers, as she called then, was captured by a wizard friend (forgot the name) of Josidiah Starym with the purpose of creating a standard figurine. At the final step of the process, the wizard, because of Josidiah's pleading and the fact that the wizard was a ranger before, had a change of heart, and let her go. Only, Whiskers rushed to the aid of Josidiah. She got mortally wounded. Rushing to get back to the lab, they all stepped into a Portable Hole and finished the figurine creation process where Josidiah named her Guenwhyvar. It was noted that when the process ended, the results were not what they expected. Instead of actually becomming an animated version of the figurine, when called, Guen plane shifted from the (Happy hunting) astral?? plane.

Things to note, the Portable Hole item has a prerequisite spell of Plane Shift in the SRD. Figurines, have animate object spell as pre-requisite.

Statwise, the Dire Panther I made is practically the leopard entry in large size while replacing the weapon finesse feat with something else. Then I gave Whiskers, the elite set of ability. After 1000 years, I gave her 3 more levels.

Ah. Apparently my memory was way off with her story (not that I've actually read it anyway, it's just something I picked up from the boards, or at least thought I did). Though now I have to wonder what story was I thinking then. Oh well. :-/

How about making a Greater Figurine of Wonderdous power for Guen?

I still say shes more likely Dire Panther and Not a celestial Panther

Dargoth,

I actually made her a Celestial Dire Panther. Just to put in the DR, SR, Holy smite, and resistances which isn't to far from the RAS books. Also, I bumped her CR accordingly (based on the SRD). The price of the Figurine might be a bit more expensive the 28500gp for the obsidian steed. I'll try to come up with it a price later on.

I stick to my original statement. She is a major NPC to most people.
