About how long have you been running or ran the same faerun campaign and what level did you attain at the end or at now?

Longest i've ran - about a year, 18th level.

Started in 1998 IRL, still going strong but now play bi-weekly instead of twice a week. We lost one player because of work issues, gained three new ones by advertising locally.

Have had three characters die, one came back to life. All started at first lv, and now the groups epic.

Started in 1369 DR during the undersea wars, its now 1373 and the dragons are going crazy. I just wanna know why the next year is called year of lightning storms....

Started a month after the 3.0 FRCS hit the shelves, never ended. Six months ago I moved to the opposite side of the planet, so handed over all my campaign material I had written to a new DM. No clue how it's going now. Started at 10th level, I left at 28th.

Our most recent campaign started back in 2001, and is still going.
I am currently working on the hooks and plot overview for the next one. ;)

Current one started in the summer of last year I think. Began level 5, currently level 8, but we've had a hell of a time trying to find opportunities to meet between work and school schedules, so there haven't been many sessions.

Before that it was all stand-alone one-sitting short games, so those don't count.

The longest campaign I was playing [and I still do in a maner of speaking] started in 1989, shortly after introduction of 2nd edition AD&D and it's still going [which make it almost 17 years], but for the last 9-10 years we manage only one or two sessions a year in that campaign due to personal reasons [but we still play it, just for fun using old 2nd edition rules] so I'm not sure if that count, but we did play it regularly for 7-8 years [from 1989 to 1996 or 1997].

Other than that, there is a 6 year long Menzoberranzan campaign [we organized a House and moved it up the station ladder], 5 years long Star Wars campaign [that still runs], and couple of shorter 3-4 year long campaigns that played along other campaigns [basically almost each party member DM'd his own campaign].

I started DMing a campaign in April 2004 and it is still ongoing. We started at lvl 1 and are at lvl 16 right now. I am however hoping to wrap up the campaign by June.

My campaign started in February of 2002. The characters started at first level and are now in the level 21-22 range. The campaign will probably last another year of two.

I am also starting a new campaign strictly dungeon crawl in Undermountain. That will only be once every few months though. The players are tired of thinking and want some old school hack and slash.

The campaign I play in has been going since January of 2004 and shows no signs of stopping. We started at level one with five players and the GM and in that time gained a player, we traveled from the High Forest to The Way Inn (and part of the way back again), had one character go MIA to be replaced by another, destroyed a keep by blowing up its privvies, crawled Undermountain twice, adventured in both Waterdeep and Skullport, had one character die to be replaced by another, had two players join the SCA, had one player have a baby, and had the characters gain all of level eight. Believe it or not, we actually meet more or less every week.

Yeah, we go kinda slow, but it's a lot of fun!

Adventuring Party Name: Company of the Combustible Commode
Current Members: Hadoriel Celeblas (lv6 Rgr, lv2 Ftr; Wood Elf Female), Ghan Ironaxe (lv6 Ftr, lv2 Clr; Dwarf Male), Nicodemis (lv1 Wiz, lv5 Mnk, lv2 Dragon Disciple; Human Male), Xyphael Ailewind (lv4 Brd, lv3 Ftr; Moon Elf Male), Amarthir Faen'dulinn (lv6 Wiz, lv2 Fate Spinner; Sun Elf Male), Haman (lv7 Drd; Human Male), various animals as familliars and companions
Current Location: Daggerford
Current Date: Alturiak 14, 1372 DR
Current Mission: Returning to Waterdeep to find a faster way of getting to Deepingdale to lay the smack down on Hadoriel's treacherous eleventh cousin.

This campaign is so much fun I actually feel like I go into withdrawl when we can't play.

:D

Sweet water to you!

The longest campaign I have ever run started in 1998. Prong 1 really started shortly after the FRCS came out and ended in 2003. Prong 2 was the original campaign that began in 1998 and ended in 2005. Both started at first level. It basically was two groups coming together once they were around 6th level - 10th level. The story advanced in prong one until the characters were 35th level, fought Dendar the Night Serpent, and then Ao changed the time stream so that the characters strictly from Prong 1 died while they were 4th level. After this, we went back and finished the adventure w/ the characters from Prong 2 [Completion of the 2d ed. Night Below campaign] at about 22nd level (of the eight characters, only four made it out alive and only two lived for longer than a month after that).

Prong 1:
Valric the Betrayer LE Male Human/Shadow Dragon/Shade Ftr8/Purple Dragon Knight5/Blk10/Juggernaut5
Benice of the Keep CE Female Human/Shadow Dragon/Shade Ftr8/Wiz5/ShadowAdept2/Deulist13
Macy the Crimson Shadow CG Female Human Wiz30/Arc2
Ramar LN Male Shade(human) Wiz5/Archmage5/ShadowAdept21

Prong 2:
Benice CE Female Human Ftr8/Duelist10/Rog4 (died shortly after)
Benak NE Female 1/2MoonElf Wiz7/Clr3/Mystic Theurge12 of Bane (died shortly after)
Vercar LE Male Human Clr8/Dreadmaster13/Hierophant2 of Bane (current ruler of Darkhold)
Iceblade Dragon's Bane CG Male Human Ftr4/Brb18 (wandering the Silver Marches)
Macy CE Female human Wiz17/Arc2 (killed by an aboleth savant; turned into a Silverwraith)
Starsnake NE Male Moon elf Rng5/Rog5/Assassin10 (destroyed when the Grand Savant of Shaboleth blew up w/ the tower)
Kervek LE Male Human Pal(ex)5/Blackguard10/Divine Champion 5 of Bane (killed in the final assault on the Grand Savant of Shaboleth)
Sam the monk(original hugh) LE Male human Monk 14 of Kossuth (died in a fire rift fighting a group of fire giants)

There was actually 9 members of prong 2 originally and only Macy, Iceblade, and Sam were there from first level. Kervek was added later as a Paladin of Mystra.

The Realms game I run started in mid-April 2002, and meets mostly-weekly on a weeknight.

The characters are now 11th or 12th level; two of the original four characters remain. There are six characters in the party, one very new and one very newly raised.

I started playing in 1979 and those characters are still more or less in play - moslty as NPCs in my forgotten Realms campaign. The present campaign started in 1995 in HAwaii and has continued on and off since then as I have had players and time to DM. Originally the players were from a sort of generic campaign that drew from all the early 0e and 1e worlds (Greyhawk, Mystara, and the earliest bits of the Forgotten realms). I later created my own world and ran it for several years but when I went to Hawaii I trashed the materials for the move. In Hawaii I was asked to start a campaign and picked the realms as a way to not invent the wheel and give my characters a place to "live" now its 10 years later and still rolling along part time.

This campaign started in January, and will end (rather abruptly) this May. I won't be able to do everything I wanted to...I'm military and I'll be leaving for Korea, so I can't complete this storyline. I infected my wife with the gaming bug, and she plays the bard in the group.

Adventuring Party Name: None
Current Members: Shira Ravenfield (NG Bard3, hf); Reynaldus Maximus (LG Paladin,Tyr3 hm); Rondell Blackrock (CN Rogue4, gm); Morachi the Nameless (CG Ranger3; moonelf m); Tarasko Vushka (LG Cleric2 Dumathoin, dm); Vydale Mystralline (LN Monk3 Ilmater hm); Trundar Bouldershoulder (CG NPC fighter5 dm)
Current Location: Silverymoon
Current Date: Ches 3, 1372 DR
Current Mission: Every trade caravan that has come out of Silverymoon has been raided by orcs, ogres, and frost giants. The party has just uncovered that a high-ranking member of the Silverymoon guard is a potential traitor, setting up the caravans to be raided while keeping his guard 'away from the action'. They will soon discover that this particular guard is actually a Blackguard in the service of Bane. The Church of Bane has infilitrated the city and will seek to overthrow Alustriel from within.

Toril isn't the focus of my game, though half the PCs are from Toril originally. The game is more focused on the planes, but a large minority of the plot arcs have involved various regions of FR.

That said, the first campaign ran 3 years before the metaplot was complete. The current game has been running a little under half that time and still going.

I've been running the same campaign since shortly before FRCS 3.0 came out. Now the PCs are 22nd level.

I played a manic depressive elf barbarian for eleven years, before retiring him last summer. He just hit level 20. Now I've been playing a cloistered cleric of Lathander for the last 6 months, and hopefully the campaign will go on for a couple of years.

My FR game, which has been in epic levels for awhile started back in late 2003. Back in '03 we actually played three times a week. It went to once a week as of '04 though.

I started in 1996 with mystara 0e as a player, we went on until lvl 8 in 1999 and we stop until last monday. Now we are playing with old rules; in the end of the adventure i will become DM and transfer some of the PC to Toril (and to 3.5e) using spelljammer; there they will face a combined world invasion by githyanki and other threats not well defined. I will also speed up things because i would like to go to lvl 30 (or 40 i don't know)

We started about 3 months ago, played almost everyday, and started in Menzoberranzan (took us three sessions to travel out of the Underdark) and we're still going.

Four years and counting, I'm usually the DM. I'm planning on running it even after 4.0 and most of the players are more interested in my DMPC than their PC's.
