| swccgf11-08-06, 04:30 PM | Are there specific names for the tenday in Faerun? I've looked closely at the campaign setting and checked on the internet, but I can't find anything about it. Any enlightenment would be appreciated. |
| Kadasbrass11-08-06, 04:35 PM | Sure they got names, I'm pretty sure the FRSC says something along the lines: The first day of the week is known as One, and the second is known as Two, ect... :D |
| Berzerker_prime11-08-06, 04:37 PM | It's either the FRCS or PGtF, but yeah, the days of the tenday are named by number. Sweet water to you. Berz. |
| swccgf11-08-06, 04:58 PM | Ok wow yeah... umm would they refer to the day as the first day of the tenweek or like I went to the store on 5? |
| Faraer11-08-06, 05:11 PM | Days aren't named at all in most places.... days in the realms are never referred to as "Monday," "Tuesday," or any real-world 'weekday' name. Most folk in the Realms refer to a particular day as thus far from "the first of Mirtul" or "the last of Eleint" or one of the annual festival days, or if they must be precise, will say something like "the first day of the first tenday of Ches." If they were writing this date or speaking of it formally, it would become "1st Ches." |
| Kadasbrass11-08-06, 05:12 PM | I think some places may have each day connected to a animal, but it varies with each location so it isn't detailed out. But if it truely matters just say "They went to the market on the Dragon" |
| Paradisio11-22-06, 04:31 AM | As per page 76 of FRCS, second column, top paragraph: They are called first-day, second-day, third-day, etc... One-day just sounds a bit odd. |
| Faraer11-22-06, 10:08 AM | As with the claim about the universality of the address 'Saer', scores of novels and other sources show that 'first-day' etc. is not the usual way of referring to days in the Realms. There are oddities in that chapter that came about through editing down a much larger draft. |
| Lord Karsus11-22-06, 02:26 PM | -Different villages and/or nation-states may also keep track of their calendars differently. I also recall what Kadasbrass was saying, about some places referring to days of the week by animals. |
