| Ssussunriyh10-29-03, 07:32 AM | That's hard to say, but one suggestion for converting D&D characters to D20 Modern has a gold piece worth the equivalent of about $20 US. In D&D, the average laborer earns 2 silver pieces per day. 100 to 150 years ago, a common worker earned about a dollar a day on average, but remember that a dollar bought a lot more back then than it does now. For example, in the latter half of the 19th century, Colt revolvers were very popular because they were affordable: $12 to $15 in plain and basic form. Today, an equivalent gun would be a Ruger, which costs $300 to $400 for a base-line model. |
