| Grundlemoot02-24-08, 02:48 AM | I decided to design my first campaign and try to run it for my friends. I'm sick of undead, gods, and the hells, so I want to try to make a campaign that is centered on the fey. I was looking around and there doesn't seem to be a lot of information readily available about the fey in FR. Can anyone point me in the direction of some information if there is any? |
| Khaelieth02-24-08, 10:31 AM | http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/fey Some there. Afraid there's almost no info to be found on them |
| MarkusTay6302-24-08, 10:45 AM | Fey were pretty much IGNORED in 3e... probably saving whatever they came up with for 4e. :bored: |
| Grundlemoot02-24-08, 03:38 PM | They're described as classic fey, so maybe I can just kinda cobble some things together. I hope it's not an incredible amount of work. |
| Lord Karsus02-24-08, 04:05 PM | -While I don't have it, the thrird-party sourcebook entitled The Complete Guide to Fey that got some good reviews. I believe there was also another one, simply entitled 'Faerie', or something to that effect. |
| Fabius Maximus02-24-08, 09:08 PM | Faeries is nice, if you ignore the horrible, horrible crunch part (the spells are good, and the new template-like abilities, but the rest... *shudders*). Oh, and it lacks editing, but given that WotC isn't able to offer that, it's only a minor problem. The fluff is great, though. |

| Bonzai02-25-08, 11:07 AM | I am planing on using a lot of fey in an up coming campaign. For mine I decided to use dusklings as a primitive remanent of the Fey creator race. It has been speculated that the Leshay are actually close/are the Fey creator race. |
| MarkusTay6302-25-08, 11:33 AM | My current take: The Fey were responsible for 'repulsing' Aberrations from the Realms at the dawn of time. During this war, which culminated in sundering Abeir from Toril, the mutanegetic effects of the Far Realms 'infected' many of the fey, and they were changed by it - that is why we have so many different 'fey' species today. The Le'Shay are the decendents of those that were unaffected by the Psuedo-natural poisoning. |
| Lord Karsus02-25-08, 11:43 AM | It has been speculated that the Leshay are actually close/are the Fey creator race. -It is quite possible that they are. The Fey were responsible for 'repulsing' Aberrations from the Realms at the dawn of time. During this war, which culminated in sundering Abeir from Toril, the mutanegetic effects of the Far Realms 'infected' many of the fey, and they were changed by it - that is why we have so many different 'fey' species today. -Based on the evidence we have, we know that a select group of deities were the ones who repuled the Aberrations of Abeir. However, it is very likely that these deities were the 5 lost Yuir deities, and thus, there is a very good possibility that they have a mash-up of Human and Fey origins. |
| MarkusTay6302-25-08, 11:52 AM | Where is that from? I've always felt that the Yuir deities were somehow linked to the Fey (survivors?), but never quite put my finger on a good-enough theory. If what you say is correct, then it would appear that WotC's take on the Fey/Abeir War is similar to my own... or rather, mine is similar to theirs, since it was the whole 'Abeir' thing that got me thinking down this road. |

| MarkusTay6302-25-08, 01:49 PM | Wow... how the hell did I miss that*? You even mention me toward the bottom... I would say "Great Minds think alike", but I know how much Dan HATES that, so I won't... Oops... :hides: * Great stuff, BTW. :) |
| Lord Karsus02-25-08, 02:08 PM | You even mention me toward the bottom... -Heh, you're right! I would say "Great Minds think alike", but I know how much Dan HATES that, so I won't... -Uh...It's our Elven Communion? Even though you're not...you know... |
| MarkusTay6302-26-08, 12:30 AM | Well, in my Drow Persona, we would both be Elven... but only up until 4th edition. Then neither of us are. :thinks: |
| Lord Karsus02-26-08, 12:36 AM | :thinks: -That's the problem. You're applying thinking to 4e. ;) |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus02-26-08, 12:40 AM | Well, in my Drow Persona, we would both be Elven... but only up until 4th edition. Then neither of us are. :thinks:  |
