First Annual Karse Awards, 2007 [Archive] - Wizards Community

Post/Author/DateTimePost
Lord Karsus

-That's right! The Karse's are here! :)

-Other boards have awards, and what not. Since the FR Boards have been lacking in this regard, I decided to create the Karse's.

-All of the votes will be tallied up at the end of this month, and voting begins as soon as this thread is posted. Just a few rules, though. Firstly, you cannot vote for yourself. Though tempting, I don't want anyone "stuffing the ballot box" with their own name. Secondly, please submit all votes in SBLOCK format, to cut down on the size of the thread. Finally, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Good luck, everyone!

Oghma Award for Most Knowledge of the Realms
(The poster with the most overall knowledge of the Realms.)

By my account, there are more than a few individuals here who'd I'd place in this category. Since you're looking for one, I'd say Faraer.

Oghma Award for Most Knowledge in a Specific Area
(The poster with the most knowledge in a specific area [Please specify what area.])

Krash -- Impiltur [of course, my own Impiltur bias helped to make this choice easier.]

Moander Award for Most Warped Beliefs
(The poster who has the most strange beliefs on any given subject, in light of canon information.)

I'd have to say Derren as well.

Mask Award for Least Heralded Hero
(The poster who does so much, but receives little or no credit for what they do.)

I want to say Faraer, again, but Brian R James was the other I was thinking about for this particular section.

Tempus Award for Feistiness
(The poster who is most willing to get into a tussle with anyone, defending his/her views.)

At the moment, that would be Burningspear.

Siamorphe Award for Most Spoiled
(The poster who is, well, the snottiest.)

Lord Karsus -- [there aren't many of us who can compete with casting Karsus's Ultimate Mistake after all and still live to tell the tale.] :P

Lathander Award for Controversy
(The most controversial poster, based on what they say and do.)

I would say Msatran.

Sehanine Moonbow Award for Biggest Rising Star
(The poster who has been registered for less than 1 year, who has had the biggest impact on the boards.)

That would be MarkusTay.

Grumbar Award for Stubbornness
(The poster who is most stubborn, no matter what facts prove otherwise.)

I would say, at the moment, the King in Yellow.

Finder Wyvernspur Award for Most Original Poster
(The most original posted, based on their signature, what they post, their avatar, and so on.)

I've really come to appreciate practically all of GothicDan's views on the Realmslore. He's presented some rather curious insights that have actually made me stop and think. Bravo!

Jergal Award for Best Former Poster
(The best contributor who no longer participates on the boards.)

I don't think there's any doubt on this one... Kuje. ;)

Denier Award for Best Quote
(The best quote contributed to a poster, concerning any topic.)

GothicDan's ensured the win here by quoting some of Ed's more important replies.

Poster Choice: Favorite NPC

Danilo Thann.

Poster Choice: Favorite Author

Ed Greenwood. Though, I could just as easily have placed Elaine Cunningham or Steven Schend here.

Poster Choice: Favorite Designer

Ed Greenwood. Again, I could've just as easily placed Steven Schend here.

Poster Choice: Best 3e Sourcebook

Lost Empires of Faerūn. I could've just as easily placed Power of Faerūn here as well.

Poster Choice: Best 2e Sourcebook

I want to say my own "Border Kingdoms" sourcebook that compiles practically everything Ed's published about the region. But that's an unfofficial source. So, I'd say City of Splendors. Though, Seven Sisters or Sea of Fallen Stars could've just as easily been considered here.

Poster Choice: Worst 3e Sourcebook

Purely because it presents so much rules-related material, I'm going to Player's Guide to Faerūn.

Poster Choice: Worst 2e Sourcebook

Netheril probably has a definite reason to be considered for this.

Where's the Yollanda Award for The Most *Enjoyable*?

Or the Correlon Award for The Snootiest?
EDIT:
I see this one has been taken care of.

Or the Gruumsh Award for The Most Presumptuous?

Or the Elistraee Award for The Biggest Rebel?

There's many categories yet uncovered (same with The Urza).

Heya,

Blah, I wasn't going to stick my oar in on this one, since these kinds of threads have a habit of degenerating into hurt feelings and the like... still, seems pretty civil so far... So here I'll try...

The Simbul.

Oghma Award for Most Knowledge in a Specific Area

I don't know, I've been back here less than a year myself. (No, not voting for myself. :P)

Grumbar Award for Stubbornness
(The poster who is most stubborn, no matter what facts prove otherwise.)

Burningspear sticks in my mind, but there are a lot more who could easily fit in here.

Finder Wyvernspur Award for Most Original Poster
(The most original posted, based on their signature, what they post, their avatar, and so on.)

No one, you all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. :P

Jergal Award for Best Former Poster

I don't actually need a cult. I go by my own name, not some appropriated one. I am a unique Sun Elven High Mage of the highest caliber, dating back to the Lorelands themselves of Uvaeren.. Ah, the crystal libraries I administered.. The beautiful, twinkling story-notes as they drifted through the air, echoed by the calls of rare birds now lost to time..
