Although it was simple and short, I really enjoyed Demon Stone. Very pretty graphics, and it doesn't take a 100 hour investment to play.

The fans are very divided about Neverwinter Nights because it doesn't adhere strictly to 3.0 rules (3.5 came out just before or after NWN I think). It also doesn't have horses or flying. But I think its strengths FAR outweigh its weaknesses. I only play single player, and I understand that I am missing more than half the fun that way. Bioware has hosted game weekends for multiplayer. There is also A LOT of fan-created modules that are very good.

The old Gold Box games from 2E were fun and had good stories.

The Eye of the Beholder series was awesome, and Menzoberranzan was pretty good too.

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor.

Forgot about Dungeon Hack. Man that was fun for mindless pleasure! No story, just kill and find keys.

anyone who dislikes NWN because it doesn't adhere to the rules competly has their standards WAAAAAAAAAY too high. compared to 90% of every other gaming based game out there it's extremely faithful to the rules. of modern game based games it's got the closest adaption of it's system,

To me some NVN fan created modules are much better than the official campaign who's authors just don't understand FR world

Right.

And if you load the PrC-Pack, you'll have a huge load of additional content to customise your characters. http://nwnprc.netgamers.co.uk/

which is why the ability to make mods is so good.
although I will say that bioware has done a very good job of keeping within the realms of FR on their games.
people who complain about minor errors etc should look at what COULD be done.
I mean at least the soul game in our gaming setting that is apt to have sequals published isn't mech assault.

I think ppl who dont liek NWN are not because of the rules bur rahter that the game's sp is not the best, the henchman setup is akward, the whole game doesnt feel as good as the BG series did...it is lightyears behind those games:):) and NWN was announced was back as the next step in evolution after BG well it wasnt really an evolution, more like devolution, but hopefully NWN2 will correct that mistake:)
