| renoir04-06-06, 04:03 AM | I was wondering for someone just beginning to read books in the Forgotten Realm, what is your advice for beginning to enter the universe? I would like to begin as close to any beginning as possible so I might learn characters from the start. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Mark |
| Yaeri04-06-06, 06:39 AM | Discussion about the novels is forbidden on these boards. (See this link http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=559479). I suggest you follow this link: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/frng (or copy paste it) It has a list of all the novels of the realms, listed chronologically per writer. So of each writer, the top book/series in the list is the place to start. If you want the very very first of all series you'll have to look at the release dates of each, or wait until one of the guru's comes replying. Hope that helps. |

| renoir04-06-06, 05:14 PM | Ouch, such an awkward reception for someone totally new and wanting to expand their knowledge. I shall find such on my own which is of course how one should do if they want it done right. I will not soil your board again with my pathetic entries. Cheers, renoir |
| Faraer04-06-06, 06:23 PM | Sorry, but it's not our fault: that kind of discussion of the fiction isn't allowed on these boards; this thread will be locked and, in fact, I'm not supposed to post to it. I recommend you sign up also at the candlekeep.com boards (http://www.candlekeep.com/forum/default.asp), where you'll find as much novel discussion as you wish. Or if you didn't mean novels in particular, let us know. |
| renoir04-06-06, 08:36 PM | Perhaps, the fact I am totally new to this board and d and d in general should have warranted a silkier repsonse from the board. Still I am used to such gruffness and I only say the former so others with a thinner skin are not run off before they even know which forum is which. Cheers, renoir |
| Dielzen04-06-06, 10:35 PM | http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/fr/fictionlist That should help ya out some. |
| WizO_Lyoness04-06-06, 11:18 PM | It is unfortunate, but those are the rules regarding FR books on site at this time. Please don't be offended. All anyone was trying to do was let you know what the rules were. :) I second that Candlekeep is probably the best place to get your question answered. Best of luck! -WizO Lyoness |
