| StormySBD05-16-07, 12:27 AM | Is there a 3.5 vertion of the book, The main campain setting book? I have been looking but all I can find is the one that came out in 2001. Thx in advanced. |
| Old Sage05-16-07, 01:25 AM | I assume you're referring to the Player's Guide to Faerūn (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/fracc/886470000)? Sorry GD. ;) |
| GothicDan05-16-07, 01:29 AM | Doohhh... |
| StormySBD05-16-07, 01:51 AM | Well, That is one of the books. But I really was talking about the first one. "Forgotten Realms Campaign Settings". The one I have now came out in 2001 way before the 3.5 books came out. Did the reprint this book with the 3.5 rules after the 3.5 books came out. Thx. |
| Ranger REG05-16-07, 01:59 AM | Did the reprint this book with the 3.5 rules after the 3.5 books came out. Nope. When 3.5e came out, they published a 3.5e update companion to the FRCS (inappropriately) titled Player's Guide to Faerun. If they call for a reprint, they'll do just that: reprint the exact text as the original. |
| TomCosta05-16-07, 04:20 PM | Just to be clear. The FRCS did not and does not need much updating of the non game mechanics material (i.e., fluff), which is the bulk of the book. The Player's Guide (along with its web enhancement for updating monsters) updated almost all of the 3E game mechanics material (i.e., crunch) from the FRCS and other 3E FR books to 3.5E and added some new game mechanics material on top of that (feats, prestige classes, spells, magic items, etc.). The Player's Guide also had a couple pages of updated fluff that got into some more detail on the Return of Shade and the Silence of Lolth. So that said, you shouldn't need an "update" to the FRCS. As for fluff, updating the timeline and such, I believe some of that will get updated in the upcoming Grand History of the Realms.... |

| Big_Mac05-22-07, 09:02 AM | I'll Just add a question here because it is directly related. If I want to run an FR campaign what book(s) would I require to run it? |
| The_Shaman05-22-07, 10:50 AM | I'll Just add a question here because it is directly related. If I want to run an FR campaign what book(s) would I require to run it? Aside from the big 3 - PHB, DMG, and the MM? FRCS for most of the fluff, PGtFaerun for an update of the mechanics and some of the newest happenings, and possibly a regional book (Shining South, Silver Marches, Unapproachable East, etc) if you are planning to place your adventure in a given locale and you want to be really knowledgeable about it. Monsters of Faerun and Magic of Faerun are advisable, but not necessary. |

| MerrikCale05-26-07, 03:59 PM | Buy it.... Or your children won't love you... Thats all it takes. Damn I've spent hundreds on Spider Man and Star Wars toys, and all I needed to do was buy one damn book. And one that I want to boot. |
