| JanxAran1307-01-06, 06:59 PM | Does anyone know if there is going to be a FR version of DDO? (D&D online for stupid people) |
| GothicDan07-01-06, 07:20 PM | Wait, you're accusing people who don't know what internet gaming acronyms stand for of being stupid? ..... An FR one will not be made, thank everything ever. |
| Dark Wizard07-01-06, 07:51 PM | I heard many fans of Eberron don't like the tie in of DDO to their setting, even if it was a very loose tie in. The same will almost certainly be true of FR if it is treated in a similar format. |
| Teh_username07-01-06, 08:02 PM | Wait, you're accusing people who don't know what internet gaming acronyms stand for of being stupid? I particularly appreciate the irony of someone accusing people of being stupid for not playing a dumbed-down version of D&D. :P An FR one will not be made, thank everything ever. As someone who used to be a fan of WarCraft (and the d20 WarCraft RPG), I whole-heartedly agree. Turning anything you like into a MMO is pretty much equivalent to sending your kids to a NAMBLA sleepover. |
| Ulitharid07-01-06, 09:57 PM | I particularly appreciate the irony of someone accusing people of being stupid for not playing a dumbed-down version of D&D. :P As someone who used to be a fan of WarCraft (and the d20 WarCraft RPG), I whole-heartedly agree. Turning anything you like into a MMO is pretty much equivalent to sending your kids to a NAMBLA sleepover. that's not quite fair.. but admittedly, DDO couldn't hold my interest for more than 20 minutes, and it truly was a horrific tie in to eberron |
| GothicDan07-01-06, 10:00 PM | Pft. Fairness is overrated! |
| Elessar Lespin07-02-06, 12:52 AM | This has all been discussed before. There is simply no way to ever do such a broad masterpiece as the Realms justice by digitizing it. Almost like a breathtaking novel that is butchered when it's transcribed to film format. There's just no way to retain the detail that makes the FR setting what it is. |
| Davidw07-02-06, 04:43 AM | Does anyone know if there is going to be a FR version of DDO? (D&D online for stupid people) So D&D online is for stupid people, right? ;) |
| The Simbul07-02-06, 02:00 PM | Everyone would be whine because they cant play a Drow or "pw1nz" Elminster.. |
| Elemental_Elf07-02-06, 06:29 PM | They should make a mmo version of FR, that way us Eberron peoples aren't the only ones who have to suffer :P |
| Bonzai07-02-06, 07:28 PM | Neverwinter Nights 2 is coming.... |
| Calrond07-02-06, 09:32 PM | Neverwinter Nights 2 is coming.... Very true, and Neverwinter Nights 1 is still out there with a decent FRDDO, check it out at http://alandfaraway.org Calrond |
| Wenin07-03-06, 01:33 AM | Things change when you go from 270 players playing for free to 20,000+ each paying $15 a month. It would feel cheap. I'll hold off playing another MMORPG until they've created AIs to provide unique content for the players. Which could result in an ever changing and living world. =) |
| BrianCritchley07-03-06, 01:34 PM | NWN is quite sufficant for me, the fact is FR's strength lies in it's solid back story, and MMORPGs lack ANY real back story it's all "walk around and kill the bad guy" NWN is quite frankly a GREAT approuch to FR. it allows for custom made modules, some of which are truely incrediable. (indeed there are some that are better then the offical campaigns) and frankly the stuff from bioware, well the 3 offical campaigns at least, tend to do a decent job of handling the setting and making it come to life. a FR MMORPG, (DDO is the NAME of the MMORPG folks, pretty sad when you call someone stupid for not knowing a term when you use the wrong technical term anyway :)) would have far less depth and a neigh non-existant story. also WOTC would be idiots to release a FR MMRPG, they';d end up competing with themselves and simply dividing profits. |
| Kid SixXx07-03-06, 02:02 PM | They should make a mmo version of FR, that way us Eberron peoples aren't the only ones who have to suffer :P Hear hear. FR got the Baldur's Gate games & we got DDO. Thanks a mil. :P Where's our top-scrolling RPG already? Make Obsidian or BioWare do our game! There's just no way to retain the detail that makes the FR setting what it is. Because Lord knows hardcore FR folks would spend more time cross-referencing the FR DDO player's guide against 2E sources for proper canon compliance than they would spend time in-game. ;) Seriously though, MMO's are not designed with roleplay in mind: any trip to the message boards of a respective MMO can tell you that. If you want quality roleplay / lore for the FR, you'd best pray that the setting stays on paper. |
| BrianCritchley07-03-06, 06:46 PM | indeed I'd say that ebberon players got the short end of the stick. the baulders gate series are among the best games ever made, DDO, just another competitor for WOW and EQ. |
| Wenin07-03-06, 07:10 PM | MMORPGs lack ANY real back story it's all "walk around and kill the bad guy" a FR MMORPG, (DDO is the NAME of the MMORPG folks, pretty sad when you call someone stupid for not knowing a term when you use the wrong technical term anyway :)) would have far less depth and a neigh non-existant story. Not totally true. I played Everquest for 3 years, and it had A LOT of backstory. Each quest involved backstory, and there were thousands of quests. There were objects in the game that did nothing but give backstory. I haven't played any other MMORPG (Recovered addict, 3 years sober *cheers*), is Everquest a rare thing? I guess I could see City of Heros having no backstory. What about the Star Wars MMORPG, the NPCs you meet in the game have no backstory? Brian, what MMORPGs have you played? also WOTC would be idiots to release a FR MMRPG, they';d end up competing with themselves and simply dividing profits. Any FR MMORPG that would come out would likely be an expansion pack for DDO. There have been what, 6 expansions for the original Everquest? Expansions and new content is what keeps MMORPGs alive. I don't really care if a MMORPG of Forgotten Realms were released, as I wouldn't play it. If I did, I'd get hooked on it like I was on EQ. =) I'm rather fond of the balance I've achieved in life as of late. =) Would it be good? I doubt that the backstory wouldn't exist, they'd be idiots to exclude it. You think there aren't a few FR fans out there that would love to get paid doing what they do for free already? The only thing that would make such a game suck would be the game mechanics, but that wouldn't be the fault of the setting. Anyway, even with a deep backstory in the game, we'd still find people moaning about its existance. They'd feel their beloved was being pimped out to the highest bidder. =) |
| BrianCritchley07-03-06, 07:20 PM | I've played SWG and it was BOREING, sure there where quests with stories but compared to say... baulder's gate etc the story was pretty thin |
| GothicDan07-03-06, 07:40 PM | And then there's WoW, which just makes blood leak out of my ears. |
| ClobberinTime07-03-06, 10:01 PM | Personally I think DDO and Eberron deserve each other, its a match made in heaven. After I finish my PhD, my present to myself is going to be WoW just in time for the expansion, and a new computer, and a cable modem, and a year to play it flat out with nothing else to distract me. |
| Kid SixXx07-03-06, 10:11 PM | What about the Star Wars MMORPG, the NPCs you meet in the game have no backstory? Eh? I was under the impression that most of the major NPC's were Lucas-approved, so they'd be covered by conventional SW lore. The other NPCs would just be cutouts. Not everyone you meet has to have an interesting backstory. Personally I think DDO and Eberron deserve each other, its a match made in heaven. Yeesh. You must be one of the angry people that Keith beat out for the setting competition. ;) As for DDO, there is some hope that it will get better since I'm under the impression that the next few expansions should include more of the canon races from Eberron, and Keith is personally working on some storyline materiel for the game. I may end up playing for 6 months or so if it shows signs of improvement. |
| Sexybeast07-04-06, 12:41 PM | Yall can cry and whine about how bad a MMORPG would be but if the developers did it correctly; which in itself would be unlikely considering how well DDO went; a FR MMORPG would rake in a lot of money. WoW has made a killing. EQ did very well for istelf. DLOC was successful. OTOH crappy MMORPG's have a hard time paying for themselves. Horizons, SWG, EQ2, AC2 have struggled a bit although SWG did well enough at its inception to pay our most of its development costs off the bat. There is really no better way to garner interest for and renew with vitality the FR than to game it. Gaming is the future. The younglings of today are not interested in books, even with pretty pictures on the cover. But put it on the comp, and you've got something. NWN is nice, but it also created a lot of elitist servers (ALFA being amongst those) and frankly, graphics wise cannot compete with the flexibility of most MMORPGs. Also, many servers started out with great ideas and concepts only to flounder and coe out with a lot less than promised. Overall a decent game, but not something many younglings would play for long. And it wasn't nearly as profitable as the $15 a month MMORPGs, which meant more time and less resources developing content. Content > all in gaming longevity. |
| Red_Wizard07-04-06, 01:37 PM | That Being said though, the servers like ALFA, blow away any MMO out there, as it is done by the setting fans, rather than the guys who are just payed to do it. |
| Faraer07-04-06, 01:40 PM | Let's remember that Eberron was commissioned, in large part, as a setting for exactly this kind of licensing, without the creative and legal restrictions the Realms has. What would the point of a Realms MMORPG be? To make money? Not for several years at least, now DDO's in that role. To play in the Realms? D00ds would screw that up, even if the technical implementation was good (see The Lord of the Rings Online). It could potentially raise the profile of the Realms as a fiction and roleplaying setting, but Wizards hasn't excelled at such cross-promotion in the past. |
| Drome07-04-06, 05:03 PM | Everyone is a game designer or a critic these days. If anyone expects a video game to ever hold a candle to the play style pen and paper brings, they're misinformed. That said... In regard to DDO, I think you should give it more than 20 minutes before totally tossing it aside. Surely it took you longer than 20 minutes to understand the pen and paper rules no? http://www.ddo.com/ Give it a shot. |
| GothicDan07-04-06, 05:14 PM | Everyone has a right to critisize. They should also, however, acknowledge facts when presented to them, and the implications behind them, and not argue mindlessly against said facts. |

Surely it took you longer than 20 minutes to understand the pen and paper rules no? http://www.ddo.com/ Give it a shot. lol, well technically i'm a digital animator, with minor game designing experience, but whos counting right ;) :P And i love DDO, the only reason i'm not playing it, is i'm currently not making enough to justify putting out the little extra to keep playing it every month. But when time and money permits again....and if NWN 2 turns out to be the flop im expecting...then i'll most likely return to it, as its a great game. But, it isn't a RPing game, and considering the setting we love, and the forums we're all on, i'm fairly certain that that is a big aspect for all of us. Thus, i make the statement about ALFA, and its the truth. Just cause game designers love games, and some even enjoy the ones they're working on, they'll almost never out do what the fans will do for the game. Theres only so much time, budget and public demand can see put into a game. But with no restrictions of money, staff, or other projects, fans can do more with it that they want, on smaller demand matters, like custom spells, setting history, and special PRCs we see in nwn ;) :D |
| Drome07-05-06, 05:02 PM | Lets not start a credential war. It will get really ugly really fast. Regardless, an MMO is what you make of it. If you're a true DND fan, and you want DDO to feel like DND, its in your hands to make it feel that way. As said above this post, limited time/money/hardware are just some of the things making DND impossible to ever be ported to a video game. |
| GothicDan07-05-06, 05:27 PM | I would say that an MMO is what the designers and the majority of the players playing it make of it. Not what YOU make of it. Even my friends who play both D&D (and play it well!) and an MMO think that it is impossible to make a true roleplaying-based MMO. Those are called chatrooms and roleplaying boards. Which I <3. |
| Teh_username07-05-06, 07:10 PM | WoW has made a killing. The main death being the previously-interesting plot and any realism its development. |
| GothicDan07-05-06, 07:21 PM | So, if WotC wants money and to not care about the actual setting/plot... Hey, wait a minute... |
| baitmask07-05-06, 07:43 PM | i love all the FR computer games to ever release, dating back as far as the old SSI games, but while Pool of Radiance can drown in hell, the rest are great for different reasons. but, as far as MMOs and DND, you'll notice that more and more these days, people are saying MMORPG less and less. this is for good reason, roleplaying servers notwithstanding. having said this, i'm a huge fan of WoW, but i've been fed up with the environment on my server, so when DDO hit release, i swallowed the price tag and jumped in. no matter how much i loathe a great deal of Ebberon material, i cant get past the idea of playing by (mostly) 3rd edition rules. i love 3rd and 3.5 for all that a player can do. while DDO is rather limiting, and while i did let my account lapse after my trial period, i am looking forward to going back when Drow debut. DDO has some seriously great dynamics, and it's only getting better with each update. i dont believe an FR MMORPG would be possible because of the shere scope of the realms. rather, i much prefer the games that delve into different portions of the realms, focussing on story arcs that you can explore at your leisure. so, while i dont currently pay for DDO or WoW, i am looking forward to going back to DDO, cause tumbling is freaking awesome in that game, particularly when i'm bored before an encounter or instance. as for NWN, the same way i own every FR game ever printed for PC, yes, it will be added to my collection as funds allow. that said, i'll enjoy it for a little bit and surely shelve it in due time. but i'm a DM for my county, and i've not been a player for many years beyond a session or two of failing games. i need 3.5 computer games to help me explore the areas of the worlds i love (or hate, as in ebberon) because i dont have that luxury at home. *shrugs* i'm the D.M. so keep those computer games coming for my downtime! |
| Red_Wizard07-05-06, 09:51 PM | Lets not start a credential war. It will get really ugly really fast. lol, i'm fairly comfortable you'd have me beaten in aspects, that's not the point though, i was just pointing out i have a well rounded base from which to judge games ;) Regardless, an MMO is what you make of it. If you're a true DND fan, and you want DDO to feel like DND, its in your hands to make it feel that way. only true to a degree. Most people on an MMO are there to grind out the next level, or to use it as a glorified MSN. finding people willing to have a serious RP, and who can go through a quest and pretend they "dont know" whats around the next bend, is infinatly more difficult. As said above this post, limited time/money/hardware are just some of the things making DND impossible to ever be ported to a video game. To an extent this is true. i mean the saying goes "In anything you have a choice of time, money, an quality, but you can only pick two". But, if a company picked the first and the last, rather than the first 2, it might be possible someday. I would say that an MMO is what the designers and the majority of the players playing it make of it. Not what YOU make of it. im confused as to what you mean by this, so i'll wait for clarification ;) Even my friends who play both D&D (and play it well!) and an MMO think that it is impossible to make a true roleplaying-based MMO. it's not impossible though. Take a look at what fan's did with the persistant worlds of NWN. Anything is possible, with the motivation, and time to do it. Those are called chatrooms and roleplaying boards. Which I <3. agreed, when im not playing dnd, im generally on them ;):D |
| GothicDan07-05-06, 10:37 PM | I've never played any MMO's other than Ultima Online and WoW briefly via friends. And I hated them. I wanted to throw the monitor out the window within a few levels... Moreso with the latter than the former. |
| BrianCritchley07-06-06, 07:18 PM | and if NWN 2 turns out to be the flop im expecting what makes you think NWN 2 will flop? |
| Faraer07-06-06, 07:57 PM | I'll bet anyone 50 imaginary Cormanthan shilmaer that Neverwinter Nights 2 will be profitable. |
| BrianCritchley07-06-06, 11:46 PM | I'll bet anyone 50 imaginary Cormanthan shilmaer that Neverwinter Nights 2 will be profitable. I suspect it will be too, just so long as it's released complete ;) |
| Davidw07-07-06, 02:41 AM | It'll porbably be every bit as successful, if not more so, than the first game. And just as bad. |
| Red_Wizard07-07-06, 01:06 PM | what makes you think NWN 2 will flop? Well, first Obsidion is doing it, a fact that i hate. Second, they have 3 diff sliders for hair colour, so i could put streaks in my characters hair, but then they only have like 8 heads per gender per race. Now maybe im missing something on the rp front, but last time i checked, the physical look to a character is more important, than hair style. And it is not hard to put in sliders to change the facial features, so theres hardly an excuse. When will we see more games with SWG's character creation interface :( Also, they have taken out several spells that they deemed "not important" including Time Stop, and decided it was best not to really add anything much better. Also, the specialist wizard will remain with 3.0 rules, meaning that you won't be picking opposed schools. And they have chosen to not allow the third dimension aspect of things, so no levitate, fly, swim, horseback riding, etc. Theres more, but i don't want to sidetrack to much. I'll still buy it the day it arrives, but im not expecting to much from it. Maybe im alittle jaded from the quality of work Bioware has done with titles like BG1 and 2 :P On a side note, i was'nt meaning it would be a flop in sales, only in gameplay, and story ;) |
| Mirtek07-07-06, 02:56 PM | Everyone would be whine because they cant play a Drow or "pw1nz" Elminster.. Actually it would be more likely that eventually people would be able to play a drow and "pw1nz" Elminster (first boss of the Dweomerheart raid instance with Mystra as the final raidboss to slay and loot epics) |
| Davidw07-07-06, 03:55 PM | Second, they have 3 diff sliders for hair colour, so i could put streaks in my characters hair, but then they only have like 8 heads per gender per race. Yes, I can easily see how any game that has 3 different sliders for hair colour but only 8 heads per gender per race has got to be a flop. I mean, it couldn't be anything else, could it? |
| BrianCritchley07-07-06, 05:05 PM | Well, first Obsidion is doing it, a fact that i hate. | Fabius Maximus07-07-06, 05:11 PM | just about everything you've mentioned there is true about NWN 1. ...and it drew a huge crowd of modders and coders who implemented a lot of stuff the original game lacked. All hail the PRC Consortium! As long as NWN 2 is as least as modable as NWN 1, it will be a success. |
| Aaron L07-08-06, 09:06 AM | NWN is quite sufficant for me, the fact is FR's strength lies in it's solid back story, and MMORPGs lack ANY real back story it's all "walk around and kill the bad guy" So, in other words, you have no idea what youre talking about, huh? I played EverQuest for 4 years, and I STILL havent read all of the back story on Norrath, the gods, the planes, and the racial histories. Dont confuse the implementation of the game, which is limited by available technology and the desire to appeal to those who want to kill things as well as those who want to roleplay, with the desire for a full and rich world. MMORPGs have just as much backstory a any other setting, which is why you can use Norrath or the World of Warcraft settings for tabletop RPGS, and in fact both have RPGs based on them. Kneejerk denunciations of MMOs out of ignorance is tiring. |
| Aaron L07-08-06, 09:18 AM | Those are called chatrooms and roleplaying boards. Which I <3. Im curious as to why you couldnt roleplay just as much in an MMO, which is a chatroom with extras? That is exactly what I have done for 6 years. Nothing is taking way your ability to portray your character, unless youre saying that the ability to actually go out and fight a dragon with your companions, instead of just talking about it, is somehow bad? To everyone claiming that you cant roleplay in an MMO, try a roleplayng server. It isnt the same experience as around a table, but its no different than any other online gaming experience short of freeform roleplaying, which isnt a roleplaying game anyway. |

| Aaron L07-08-06, 01:25 PM | except you can't control whose in the game in a MMO, Nor can you control who is around you in real life. You can control who you associate with, however. |
| Kid SixXx07-08-06, 03:59 PM | I played EverQuest for 4 years, and I STILL havent read all of the back story on Norrath, the gods, the planes, and the racial histories. I beta-tested for EQ and we got at least 20 pages of world backstory to familiarize us with the materiel we'd be encountering in the game. We only got racial histories for the race we decided to play, but we got our hands on the other files anyway. EQ has lots of solid backstory. I guess BC assumes that there is no backstory because only a small fraction of the players ever bother to use the lore that Brad & Co came up with and prefer to play. As opposed to the FR, where most first-glancers assume that most FR faithful would rather read & study lore than actually roll dice and play the game. |
| Red_Wizard07-08-06, 05:28 PM | just about everything you've mentioned there is true about NWN 1. I believe our definition of "just about everything" differs slightly. But for arguments sake, lets go through it to confirm. Well, first Obsidion is doing it, a fact that i hate. Seems to me that bioware did the first game, a company i love and has proved time and again that they know how to make a damn good RPG. Also Bioware made KOTOR, where obsidion made KOTOR 2, Now perhaps you don't like my word on the matter, but ask the other fans which was the better game, and why and i can assure you 9 times out of 10 KOTOR will get the flag raised. Second, they have 3 diff sliders for hair colour, so i could put streaks in my characters hair, but then they only have like 8 heads per gender per race. Now for this one, you are half right. yes there were limited head selections in NWN, but there were more than 8 per gender, per race. Now it has been commented in interviews there are roughly only 8 heads per gender per race in the game and while yes i'll give you that this is similar, it shouldn't be. Maybe you enjoy playing games that don't step ahead from their predesessor, but i know i like to see alittle change now and again, especially in customization. That said though, you now have hair sliders. So apparently the concept of a a head slider was lost on obsidion, as they were too overcome with their brilliant break through in hair colouring. Cause i know personally i want my half orc barbarian to always look his best, with fresh blonde streaks in his long dark hair  Now maybe im missing something on the rp front, but last time i checked, the physical look to a character is more important, than hair style. And it is not hard to put in sliders to change the facial features, so theres hardly an excuse. When will we see more games with SWG's character creation interface Now this to me seems more like a personal opinion, essentially the same as what i was saying above, hardly having anything to do with the first game whatsoever. But, ill humor you, and elaborate abit, so it pertains to your statement. Yes you are correct that NWN did not have the level of customization that i want either. But when it was released, it blew me away non the less. For the first time i was able to experiance the realms in 3D, with a moveable camera, and cutomization not before seen in the games of its title. Look at the Baldurs Gate series. You could change 2 colours, had one model for each gender with slight modifications for class, all clothing of a certain type looked identicle, and there were 4 voice sets per gender, period. NWN took the creation side of things and ran with it, giving us far more room to realise our characters, but over time, as other games came out and overshadowed the graphics and content, it left room for things to be desired. And now, they had the chance to make those things happen, and what do we get? Hair colour sliders, over facial modifiers. [Also, they have taken out several spells that they deemed "not important" including Time Stop, and decided it was best not to really add anything much better. NWN, did indeed nerf some of my favorite spells from BG 1 and 2, but they replaced them with other destructive spells they thought we'd enjoy. Granted i wasn't happy with that decision, but now was the time to rectify it. However, apparently it is more important to continue cutting down, an already dwindleing list. I mean in NWN, when it came down to Sorc, or Wiz, there was no competition, take Sorc every time. The wizards lack of flexibility with spells, just makes him a weak thing compared to the high level sorc. Also, the specialist wizard will remain with 3.0 rules, meaning that you won't be picking opposed schools. NWN was 3.0 rules, so it made sence. And they have chosen to not allow the third dimension aspect of things, so no levitate, fly, swim, horseback riding, etc. NWN didn't have this either, but again, it comes back to the game upstaging the one prior, not tieing it. Yay, so the terrain now resembles terrain, whoopty do though if i can't jump off the mountain, and feather fall to safety below. DDO does this, there are many many things i like about DDO, and i think that at the very least NWN 2, should have taken that as a base to build from, cause apparently their game designers were lacking in the imagination department, during several key meetings. Theres more, but i don't want to sidetrack to much. I'll still buy it the day it arrives, but im not expecting to much from it. Maybe im alittle jaded from the quality of work Bioware has done with titles like BG1 and 2 On a side note, i was'nt meaning it would be a flop in sales, only in gameplay, and story Well that clearly has nothing to do with the game either, so i guess it's tallying time. 0.5........huh, thats odd, i couldn't even get one full thing to support your statement. Maybe i mis-counted, since "just about everything i mentioned" pertained to the first one. Feel free to recount yourself though ;) |
| BrianCritchley07-08-06, 06:22 PM | well the thing you have to keep in mind with KOTOR 2 is that Lucasarts demanded Obsidian release the game in november (instead of in febuary like it was supposed to be) to get increased christmas sales, the end result was a somewhat more buggy game that was somewhat incomplete. so long as Obsidian, WOTC and Atari have a brain this should be fine. as for the spells, NWN never gave us anything new, they added spells in with expansion packs. the thing you have to keep in mind is Obsidian had a choice as to what they could do, they could go hog wild with features, or they could make it easier for people to make custom modules, I suspect a 3rd dimension would make modules a tad trickier. |
| SirUrza07-09-06, 10:16 PM | Since Turbine can't seem to get d20 rules implemented correctly I doubt they'd be able to handle the Realms. Please no FR MMOs. |
| SirUrza07-09-06, 10:27 PM | as for the spells, NWN never gave us anything new, they added spells in with expansion packs. NWN has new content coming out all the time. BioWare just added Random dungeon generation. They've added some many monsters that didn't release with the original product and plan to continue adding stuff to the original game. I seriously doubt NWN2 will be nearly as good as NWN. The fact that they've taken out some much, mostly becuase they've changed the camera and character controls, to me speaks for the quality of Obsidian's work. The ONLY reason why Obsidian got KOTOR2 was because of the deadline mentioned, a deadline Bioware didn't want to meet, they wanted to make a quality sequal. The KOTOR2 backlash is why there is no KOTOR3 but certain other star wars titles that came out at the same time as the original KOTOR haven't disappeared and have more titles coming. Anyway, Bioware is making their own MMO, so my money is on THAT. |
| Sparkcaster07-22-06, 08:59 AM | WoW showed that if you put a background to a MMORPG it can be very good. But Blizzard making mistakes day to day and turning game to nothing but collecting epics.Truimphiant(spelling ?) of WoW coming to an end since they killed the lore of Warcraft universe. I played NWN in persistent world servers.the one which I played was formed in Silver Marches . It was very good .Playing in FR walking in Silverymoon invaluable. Just think of walking around faerun. Though game must developed by people like who developed BG IWD and so on.Game must contain all elements of FR. I think NWN 2 will do these even WotC dont decide to make FR Online but if they do it can be best with its background |
| Derren S.07-22-06, 09:33 AM | WoW showed that if you put a background to a MMORPG it can be very good. WoW wasn't the first MMO to do that, but most MMO players I have met were not interested in background, only in collecting epics/uniques/etc. |
| Sparkcaster07-23-06, 11:59 AM | And all of my FR fan friends are waiting a MMORPG which is in FR and has a lot RP options |
