Forgotten realms timeline [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-18-06, 02:34 PM Is there anywhere that has a comprehensive timeline of the events in the forgotten realms? Primarily the years 1372/73 and possible 1374. There have been numerous books that take place during this time, but even the Player's Guide is now a little out of date. I plan on reading many of the series, but for the sake of my player's I would like something that I can just show them and say "see here Shade showed up, here Lolth disapeared, here she reappeared, here the whole planet was almost destroyed by dragons, and now you are trying to survive in the aftermath."

* those are the only three events that I am really familiar with happening recently.

Unfortunately it's a bit vague for the years your looking for, as those are relatively recent events.

08-18-06, 06:37 PM See, thats just the problem. Most of the online timelines stop in 1372 with the release of 3E. They updated the timeline in Player's Guide up to its publication, but there have been many things that happened since then. I.e. the resolution of War of the Spider Queen.

08-18-06, 07:02 PM And looking at some other threads, this might also just be a problem with too many RSEs or close to RSEs in FR. Right now I need to explain ToT, return of shade, dragon rage, lolths disapearance, the attacks from the sea, the recent events in Cormyr, and King Obould Many-Arrows. Of which I really only know of the ToT entirely and don't know how the others were resolved. And I only know of whatever happened from the sea because of allusions on these boards.

And it goes up to 1374 . . .

08-18-06, 09:47 PM Other than what's in the Player's Guide, there's no detailed timeline of the last couple of years of FR time. Most of the novels have dates at the start of each chapter, and rumour has it WotC is publishing a timeline-heavy book some time next year.
