I'm REALLY sorry if this had been dealt with, but I'm about to go out and get some books and I really don't want to spend 40-50 bucks for a FRCS if WOTC is coming out with a 3.5 version. Any ideas?

Edit: Realized I never directly asked the question. Is WOTC coming out with a(n) 3.5 edition of FRCS?

Thanks!

The Player's Guide to Faerun will update FR to 3.5. It comes out early next year.

There is the Player's guide to the Forgotten Realms coming out next year. It'll update most of the problems (I hope) in converting, if you are converting that is. I haven't yet, but it's likely I'll play 3.25 D&D.

The 50 dollar question is are you a player in the Forgotten realms or a DM?

If your a Player you may want to wait until the Players guide to Faerun comes out in March next year.

If however your a Dm then you'll want the FRC AND the PGTF

The PGTF will update alot of the stuff in the FRC to 3.5 HOWEVER alot of the fluff that is in the FRC will not be included in PGTF ie the PGTF will not contain the Geography stuff thats in the FRC.

FRC Chspters 1-3 will be updated in PGTF the remaining chapters wont
