| WizO_BigSister02-21-04, 11:49 AM | I am starting a thread for you to post useful links you have found, with Realms resources. I think between us all we can make an incredibly useful and extensive list. I have started off with a small list of my own, but will edit this regularly to add in new links. This is by no means comprehensive, but I expect you to add plenty more. Please when you make your contributions try and use the same format I have, giving the link and a short description of what the site offers. This will help me out a lot :) "The Forgotten Realms Useful Links" list itself list is getting really huge, so it will be easier for you to open it in another window by clicking Forgotten Realms Useful Links (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=186519) It also helps us keep a track of how many people are using the list |
| Faraer02-21-04, 01:32 PM | Search the REALMS-L archives (http://oracle.wizards.com/scripts/wa.exe?S1=realms-l) - the archives of the Forgotten Realms Mailing List contain answers to many questions, posts by authors, and new material of all kinds Yet Another Forgotten Realms WebPage (http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/2566/) - AJA's site with his own highly authentic Realmslore, timelines, and a collection of sages' posts to REALMS-L Eric. L. Boyd - Hobbies (http://www.ericlboyd.com/dnd/) - Realms author's page with miscellaneous lore and information on his online campaigns The Forgotten Realms Bibliography (http://www.aeolia.net/realms/) - thorough listing of Realms sources including magazine articles Virtual Fantasy: the Forgotten Realms Index (http://www.toril.info/) - Prespos's expansive index of Realmslore and sources Interviews with Ed Greenwood: April 1999 (http://www.defragsrealms.com/times/archive/ftedint.html), Nov 2000 (http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/2566/ed-interview2.htm), Apr 2002 (http://www.friendsofmerril.org/sol26.html#Greenwood_interview), Jun 2002 (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=pyat&itemid=26384), Feb 2004 (Mortality Radio .mp3) (http://www.mortality.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=getit&lid=84) NB AJA's site has much more than just the timeline you list. Also mention that candlekeep.com has the REALMS-L FAQ which is a good general Forgotten Realms reference. How about defunct sites accessible via archive.org? |
| WizO_BigSister02-22-04, 08:35 AM | Many thanks Faraer for those excellent additions. I'vve updated the main list, including the extra stuff on Candlekeep. Defunct and archived links are fine ... so long as they will keep on working. |
| Lashan02-22-04, 04:26 PM | The Complete Forgotten Realms Timeline (http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/2566/realmstime0.htm) is a pretty thorough timeline. I am not sure if there is a better timeline out there, but this is one I found one day. Forgotten Realms Weather Generator (http://www.kolumbus.fi/antti.lusila/rpg/gmtool.html) is a good weather generator for campaigns. It makes life easier. |
| Maskanodel02-22-04, 06:09 PM | Sorcerors Place (http://www.sorcerers.net/Fan_Worlds/FR/index.htm) has a lot of cool essays and other things. |
| Kezghan02-23-04, 01:14 AM | The Library (http://www.o-love.net/realms/) a great realms resource with a nice timeline and awesome information about the novels. The Annotated History of the Forgotten Realms (http://www.geonomicon.com/chronology/temporum/TAHOTFR2.htm) The best timeline ive found bar none. |
| WizO_BigSister02-23-04, 12:04 PM | New links added to the list. Keep 'em coming :) |
| Smudgy02-23-04, 02:33 PM | I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you're after, WizO_BigSister, but:- Lavender Eyes (http://lavendereyes.rivkashome.com) A Drizzt-related fansite (fanfic, fan art, an encyclopaedia, a forum, a chat room, links and news). |
| WizO_BigSister02-23-04, 06:05 PM | Originally posted by Smudgy I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you're after, WizO_BigSister If you think a link would be a useful resource to other posters who use these forums then it is what I am looking for :) |
| WizO_BigSister02-26-04, 04:49 PM | Bumping this as I am sure there are loads more goodlinks out there. Eventuall we hope to include this list as part of the new FAQ and Useful info forum. |

| J. Grenemyer03-01-04, 03:28 AM | Hello BigSis, You might want to add the Blades of Faerūn (http://www.seankreynolds.com/rpgfiles/blades/index.html) web page from Sean Reynolds website, as it has over 24 unique weapons dedicated to the various faiths of Faerūn, not to mention it includes exact cost breakdowns and (very helpful) instructions on how to price magic weapons with non-plussed weapon properties. :D |
| MasterAO03-04-04, 05:11 PM | Forgotten Realms Portal (http://www.masterao.com) |
| Wooly Rupert03-05-04, 02:26 AM | I should like to add this site: http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/fr/fr.htm 'Tis useful for those who want to know about the old Realms products, from the long ago days of TSR. |
| WizO_BigSister03-05-04, 04:31 AM | :bump: Come on people - there must be LOADS more out there :D |
| WizO_BigSister03-09-04, 10:45 AM | :bump: I'll be moving this to the new "FAQ & Useful FR Information" forum as soon as it's created. However, we will still be collecting more links. *Prods people with the Spear of Net Knowledge* |
| WizO_BigSister03-23-04, 03:29 AM | Check for new links ... I've added a couple posted elsewhere on the boards, some sent by Zanan  and a couple I found while surfing. |

| Sarelle04-11-04, 06:50 PM | Dandello Forgotten Realms Help (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/) - site with comprehensive list of presige classes, feats and whatnot. Used to have a comprehensive list of Known Dragons of Faerūn, taken from 'Faerūun Campaign' but it can't be accessed now... GreyCompany 'Drow Translator' (http://www.grey-company.org/Maerdyn/resources/translator/) - best 'Drow' translator out there, but... This, Chosen of Eilistraee 'Drow Translator' (http://www.eilistraee.com/chosen/language.php), I find even easier to use and it is almost as comprehensive. Plus it is attached to a great forum site full of lovely people (not me, I mean, the other people!) |
| WizO_BigSister04-13-04, 05:28 PM | Thanks Sarelle. I've added those links so we are now up to 38 links! |

| Darchon03-10-05, 04:47 AM | Neverwinter Nights related - a persistent world based on the FRCS (Not ment as an advertisment) A Land Far Away (http://www.alandfaraway.org/) is an online role-playing community. Our goal is to build the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting using Bioware's (http://nwn.bioware.com/) Neverwinter Nights computer game as the tool. We have a set of servers, each covering a certain part of Faerūn, the world in which Forgotten Realms takes place. The main emphasis of ALFA is on roleplaying. When playing in ALFA, we try to assume the part of our characters, acting in the world as they would. DM-led plots, similar to the old pen and paper-campaigns bring the world alive, while bards sing about the deeds of the heroes, the players themselves. Our players come from various backgrounds. While a large group of players have a lot of pen and paper roleplaying experience, we also have a significant number of players whose only experience in roleplaying has been in other CRPGs or MMORPGs. We welcome both the seasoned D&D veterans and completely new players willing to learn about Forgotten Realms and roleplaying. |
