FR Adventures? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-26-03, 12:38 PM I was browsing through some websites for D&D accessories and I came across these two FR adventures that were apparently released soon after the release of the 3.0 rules. They are Pools of Radiance (apparently a conversion of the PC game by the same name) and Into the Dragon's Lair. I was wondering if anyone had played either of these adventures and what you thought of them if you have. Also, are there any other good Realms based adventures (aside from the Spider Queen one) that you could recommend?

Pool of Radiance isn't a conversion of the PC game, though it does follow up on some story elements from that game. Into the Dragon's Lair is primarily set in Cormyr after Azoun's death. Out of the two, I favor Pool of Radiance, but neither one was all that great.

If you're looking for other Realms adventures I'd suggest: The Door from Everywhere (Dungeon #88) Woe to Mistledale (Dungeon #99 (I think)) The Raiders of Galath's Roost (Dungeon #87) Tears for Twilight Hollow (Dungeon #90) Prison of the Firebringer (Dungeon #101)

My players have gone back there several times, trying out all the portals, and ending up in all kind of places.

08-26-03, 06:59 PM I think Dungeon Magazine is probably your best source for new FR adventures. Of course the best adventures are the ones from your own imagination.

08-26-03, 08:41 PM Theres also Spiral of Manzessine in Dungeon 92 which ties into city of the SPiderqueen.

Dungeon 103 has a module called Forest of Blood which is set in the Sliver Marshes.

There also a number of mini modules in the Silver Marches accessory

08-27-03, 10:53 AM well I tried both as DM and would say that both the group and I enjoyed into the dragon's layer (with some modifications in the end...the elves were just not enough) quite a lot. Pools though was quite disappointing and was as much fun as the game with the same name (didn't finish either...just wasn't worth it to me). I had so much fun with into the dragon's lair that I even gave it to another DM and his group seemed to enjoy it too...but my group still rants and raves about the way they ended it...I added a bunch of dragons in the final plane and the PCs had to fight the trolls (yes the ones on the cover) while the mage kept trying to stop the dragons from entering using walls of force...they got away with a nifty loot eventhough the dwarven fighter lost his favorite axe just seconds before they all escaped...I enjoyed it and so did the PCs...what more can I say...
