FR Forum Reorg [Archive] - Wizards Community

My two cents for whatever its worth for new categories, all of which would probably get a fair amount of traffic:

* Races, Classes, and Feats
* Equipment, Magic, and Spells
* Faiths and Deities
* Geography, Countries, and History
* Organizations, NPCs, and Monsters
* Campaigns and Homebrew (and Miscellaneous)

01-29-04, 10:30 AM That looks a good split to me. The current Skills & Feats, Combat & Weapons forum is often not Realms-relevant, and the Forgotten Realms General forum and the Forgotten Realms Campaign Sourcebook forum have no clear distinction right now.

01-29-04, 10:52 AM I especially like the " Campaigns and Homebrew" one. That could help keep some new players and lurkers from accidentally thinking some of the off the wall stuff in our games is canon.

Just the other day a player asked me when the Githyanki were showing up. He didn't realize that it was just a guy running an Incursion campaign in the Realms.

Not because I don't like drow in the Realms as many people like to proclaim as a badge of honor, but simply because everything I need to know about the drow, I will make up. ;)

01-30-04, 08:38 AM Actually, I suggested the drow forum as a joke. To be honest, I am sick of seeing all the drow posts and was hoping to stuff them all in one forum that I could happily ignore (much like the novels forum).

You can head over the Candlekeep forums.... It looks like many of the same posters are over there now.

01-31-04, 06:59 AM The categories have already been sorted out. We will give this new organisation a fair trial, and see if it works out. If one of the forums gets too busy we may split it, but lets see what happens first :)

01-31-04, 10:25 AM I am going to move a few threads across to the new forums. These will only be very large threads that have been active for months. If you really want me to move your thread ask me, but I am going to have to be very choosy as moving everything is a massive task!

On a serious note, pertaining to the topic at hand... will the newly organized forums remain in their current Wizards.com color scheme, or will they also recieve the FR logo and color scheme I'm used to? :confused:

We are still getting a feel of how things work, and how to make it as clear as possible. As well as changing the title for that forum, we have also made it clearer that home-brew ideas are very welcome in the forums that cover that particular theme. If you spot any other way we could make things easier to understand then please tell us :)
