FR, need a location in the Dalelands to start my campaign [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-11-04, 09:44 AM I'm DMing my first real campaign soon; I'm running The Sunless Citadel, and then I had planned to have the PCs witness a drow raiding party slaughtering some elves (hoping that they will give chase and follow them into the Underdark). I was wondering which Dale/ town I should start the campaign in.

10-11-04, 09:52 AM You'll probably get better answers if you post this in the FR forum itself. Though I'd say any town in or near Cormanthor would work as the two Drow houses there are everywhere around the forest I believe.

Ashabenford, in Mistledale, worked rather well for me. Another one that would work well would be Daggerdale. They've been plagued by drow raids for some time now, and it'd be a good long-term lead-in to City of the Spider Queen.

10-11-04, 11:26 AM I always used Harrowdale City in Harrowdale, as it's a nice large city with plenty of trade routes and therefore supplies and side quests.
