It says something like ... "names are usually rather pleasing to the ear". Yet, names like Vrasl, Trun'Zoyl'Zl, Fyvrek'Zek or Jesthflett do not only sound very un-drow-like, but also give the DM quite a hard time: As you enter the halls of the compound, the Matron Mother of the most powerful House of Trun'Zyol'll ... Trun'Zoylz ... well Trun'Zoyl'Zl awaits you with her bodyguard. "Vendui, consider yourself guests of the hospitallity of my house. I am Jhestfleth ... Jhesthflett Trun'Zyoll' ... :behold: ...

avian tiefling 12-07-03, 10:05 PM	i just have to post my favorite drow name of all time here: Karza-kzad Xorlarrin i can pronounce this one, but i must say that i don't think there's any name, kuo-toan or otherwis that can beat its consonant-tasticality. some pronunciations that have been bothering me lately are from the counselors and kings trilogy Jordaini (is it jordain-igh, or jordain-ee?) Halruaa (do you pronounce the second "a"?) Baenre (not in the trilogy, but is it "bayn-rih," "bayn-ray," "bayn-ree," how is it pronounced!?!?!?!?!!)
