FR Tavern? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-16-04, 02:43 PM Is there a tavern dedicated to FR or a live chat forum? I've looked but it alludes me if it exsists. If not, anyone interested in starting one?

02-17-04, 08:05 AM There are a vast number of Forgotten Realms boards and sites that have chat rooms or forums for informal "in role" posts. No "in role" posting is allowed in the D&D and FR forums on WotC boards. The in role sections are here (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=251), and you can find the rules on starting new games here as well.

Otherwise I suggest you do a Google (http://www.google.com/) search for Forgotten Realms and Taverns ... but make sure you have loads of time to see the vast number of sites ;)

02-17-04, 02:11 PM Hey BigSister....without meaning to stir up trouble (well not too much trouble)....why aren't we "allowed" to have a FR specific chat or role play board? No offense to WotC but that seems kind of narrowminded. Why wouldn't you want something that promotes a line of product you are marketing/selling?

You are allowed a Forgotten Realms specific in role chat room or forum .... but it won't be here. It will be in the "in role" areas I linked to in my previous post. The WotC have provided a huge range of services on these forums. Experience has shown that we need to keep various topics in the places they belong, or else we have chaos, and it becomes extremely difficult for people to find the things they are interested in.

The relevent section of the Code of Conduct reads
"off-topic posts or casual chat/IC play in the wrong chatrooms For example:
o out-of-character chat in designated in-character rooms
o casual chat or non-combat play in designated combat-only rooms, or, conversely, combat play in non-combat rooms
o casual chat or free-form role-play in designated structured rules/dice-based game rooms
o at WizO discretion, off-topic chat or posts in topic-specific rooms/forums
o card trade anywhere other than designated trading areas "

People chatting to each other about real life stuff that hasn't got anything to do with the thred subject counts as spam ... and spam is not good :sad: Its actually against the Code of Conduct (http://www.wizards.com/coc) to post like this.
