| Avin04-18-06, 11:26 AM | Hi guys, I'm looking for some info but don't have my books right here. Is there any 3.0/3.5 mention to a portal from Sigil to Toril? Is there any 3.0/3.5 mention of Yugoloths in Toril/FRCS? |
| Priest_of_Shaundakul04-18-06, 11:31 AM | I know the Abbey of the Sword mentioned in Faiths and Pantheons has a portal to an alleyway in Sigil. That's it. |
| Old Sage04-18-06, 11:38 AM | I don't recall any specific mention of a portal from the City of Doors to Toril being detailed in the 3e FR canon aside from the Abbey of the Sword reference in F&P on pg. 161 P3-Magic Portal -- one-way from Sigil to Toril. Also, considering that the Sigil of the Great Wheel in 3e is the same Sigil in the FR's Great Tree cosmology... I would think any of the 2e portals that were in existence from Sigil to Toril have the possibility of still being active in 3e provided nothing has seen to their closure. And yes, yugoloths have been mentioned in 3e FR -- on the Blood Rift. PGtF being the most immediate reference that comes to mind. |

| Avin04-18-06, 11:49 AM | thank you guys. |
| Priest_of_Shaundakul04-18-06, 11:51 AM | It's from an alleyway in Sigil... not to it. And it's one-way. Sorry bout that, I typed the first thing that came to mind (haven't read that section in a while, so details were fuzzy :P ) |
| Old Sage04-18-06, 11:56 AM | Sorry bout that, I typed the first thing that came to mind (haven't read that section in a while, so details were fuzzy :P )Ah. I just felt it was important to clarify the F&P reference since the original poster asked for 3e FR details pertaining to a portal from Sigil rather than to it :). |
| Shemeska the Marauder04-19-06, 02:09 AM | There's another portal to Sigil from Toril that I can immediately think of, which is the World Serpent Inn located in the city of Arabel in Cormyr, which connects by portal to Sigil (two portals in Sigil lead to the Inn, I forget immediately which Wards have connections to it). [There are differences between the information on the World Serpent Inn itself between the editions, which I'm not incredibly familiar with. But the connection to Sigil is both ways regardless of the exact details on the interior of the place.] And there's also a slew of portals in various places in Faerun that previously opened to planes of the Great Wheel, which you could easily use as are or retcon to the new planes if you so desired. Is there any 3.0/3.5 mention of Yugoloths in Toril/FRCS? Yes, they're mentioned in the 'Players Guide to Faerun', 'Champions of Ruin', and 'Lost Empires of Faerun' mentions the trio of unique/advanced nycaloths who obliterated the elven city of Myth Drannor. I'm sure that there are other references too. |
| Gray Richardson04-19-06, 08:55 AM | The World Serpent Inn is a plane or demiplane unto itself. Much like Sigil, it has portals that connect to many other planes and places. It's detailed in one of the web enhancements available for free download, I think. |
| Old Sage04-19-06, 08:58 AM | It was in the first of the WE for 3e MotP. 'Tis here:- http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20010921a |
| Gray Richardson04-19-06, 08:35 PM | Yep, that's it. It also figures prominently in the 1E adventure sourcebook: OP1 Tales of the Outer Planes (http://www.pen-paper.net/rpgdb.php?op=showbook&bookid=4385) . |
