Freeport and the Realms [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-28-05, 02:20 PM Have anyone tried running the Freeport modules in the Realms? What kind of conversions did you did with regards to religion, monsters, locales etc. I was thinking of placing Freeport in the Sword Sea, possible Lantan.. but the piracy stuff and the fact that you can tie in the adventures backstory with the serpent folk of Faerun makes me want to place it in the Pirate Isles...

Any suggestions?

One thing that struck me was Luksan.
Luksan has a loooong history with pirates that I felt appropriate.
I only saw one free adventure and a little bit more, but I would think Lantan not a good match.

I should take another look at this stuff.

08-29-05, 05:58 AM I'm planning to use Freeport modules in Faerun, and my choise of the site for Freeport is the island of Mintarn in the middle of the Sea of Swords. If I remember correctly Mintarn is said to be a safe haven for pirates and like. Sounds like Freeport to me. It is close to the Pirate Isles. Plus Mintarn has never been covered much in FR products (I think?), so Green Ronin's material suits well, IMO. My religion conversion at this point looks something like this: Oghma (Knowledge), Umberlee (Pirates), Istishia (Oceans), Tempus (War).
