| Kuje3103-27-05, 07:04 PM | Does anyone have any information on this product. Is is part of a (oh please let it be...) series? Like Dungeons Adventure Path? Rich has said, in the game designer thread, that it isn't like that. Other then that we just have it's name. :) |
| Jarjaxle03-27-05, 07:18 PM | Damn man!! I just don't understand this... WotC has full control over the Realms. No 3rd Party can publish adventures there. WotC Puts out a ton of extra material for the realms. Unapproachable East, Silver Marches, Waterdeep is coming... etc... but almost ZERO adventures. Yes I know... there is the City of the Spider Queen a few scattered about Dungeon Magazine... but not nearly enough for a DM hard pressed for time to run a campain in. I miss the good ol' days when, for whatever level the PC's were, I could find at least 3 adventures to run. I feel like WotC is just slowly killing the realms by not supporting it strongly enough. They have spent all this money and time on D&D mini's (I have yet to find anyone who 'wargames' with these) and on Ebberon. Ebberon!! When they have a great and well established campaign right here... Loved by millions. More NYTimes Best Sellers in the Book department then Tom Clancy can wag a pen at... all this ... and they don't support the people who need support... The Forgotten Realm DM. I am feeling more and more like the Forgotten DM. |
| Kessalin Talira03-27-05, 07:24 PM | Judging by the title, I would guess that yes, it's part of a series, though not so much like the adventures in Dungeon dealing with Cauldron. I would guess they're more like the original adventure path adventures for 3.0 D&D, that started with The Sunless Citadel and culminated in Bastion of Broken Souls. The Shackled City adventure path was more like one long campaign, in that each adventure basically started where the last one left off. On the other hand, the 3.0 adventure path was just a series of adventures of increasing level that said somewhere inside "If you're playing this after this other adventure, then you can change x to y and tie them together", with a very broad background theme (Ashardalon). |

As I said, Rich said it was a stand alone: "Champions of Valor, yes. Sons of Gruumsh, yes. FR Adventure path, no. Sons of Gruumsh is a stand-alone adventure, it's not part of any adventure arc, sorry to say." |
| BrianCritchley03-27-05, 08:03 PM | maybe with any luck it'll be optional as part of an adventure arc |
| Macarel12803-29-05, 02:00 PM | from merric s website: http://www.3rdedition.org/merricb/mini.htm Sons of Gruumsh - 32 pages, 4th level stand alone adventure set in the Moonsea area, designed to facilitate the use of D&D minis (September 2005) Fane of the Drow - 2 double sided poster maps scaled for minis, 16 page adventure, and mini skirmish scenarios (September 2005) Hellspike prison - as Fane of the Drow (November 2005) |
| BrianCritchley03-29-05, 05:26 PM | hmm not sure if I like the "designed to facilitate d&d minis" aspect |
| Macarel12803-29-05, 05:30 PM | I, on the other hand, am sure I like it. |
| ericlboyd03-30-05, 04:35 AM | Not to toot my own horn, but I am writing a 3-part adventure set in Waterdeep to appear in Dungeon later this year. Maybe that will qualify as an 'adventure arc' for you? Skip Williams has done three adventures set in the Dalelands ... one low, one mid, and one high level. The most recent appeared in the latest issue. Those adventures could be incorporated into a Dalelands campaign. --Eric |
| Tempus66503-30-05, 10:00 AM | That's great to hear Eric! Since I don't normally buy Dungeon magazine but am very much interested in your work and Waterdeep, could you perhaps tell us which issues they'll appear in? |
| Bocklin04-05-05, 08:29 AM | Sons of Gruumsh - 32 pages, 4th level stand alone adventure set in the Moonsea area, designed to facilitate the use of D&D minis (September 2005) I wonder where Merric has that extra info from. I did not see any source on his webpage and he is the only one mentioning this... Bocklin |

| Bocklin04-05-05, 09:49 AM | It sounds awesome! Also, thanks for the extra tip you gave us with info about adventure level! It definitely helps plan in advance and see how we can include this in existing campaigns. Bocklin See this thread: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=404803 --Eric |
