MerrikCale 09-28-07, 10:46 PM	The only thing they have mentioned for sure is August 2008 will see the new Campaign Book. They also said a 2nd 4e sourcebook will released thereafter which will basically be a Player's Guide. Presumably, it will convert some of the more popular PrCs and the like

The Forgotten Realms will continue to be a published and supported campaign setting. -Not that I'm minimizing the amount of transformation that the setting will be undergoing, but it's not exactly being killed either.

If its no longer recognizable as anything but the burned and spell-plague-blasted bones of the forgotten realms, its not really the realms anymore. If you change a setting too much its no longer what it was. It occupies the same geographical position, but its not the same place.

(Instead of the little brother.) THat could be considered horrible to magic users. The rise of the proletariat. And the fact he barely knows anything about FR makes me feel oh so warm and fuzzy inside.
Dark Wizard 10-11-07, 12:45 AM	Logan is a mechanics designer, so I guess that does allow him to come to the Realms knowing less. It probably helps if he learned more, but I'm sure the rest of the design team will give him what he needs. It wouldn't hurt to have some fresh takes on aspects of the Realms, would probably even help at this point (new Realms and all). Game mechanics is one aspect of 3e FR that really didn't click with me much, as in I felt the mechanics lacked something to make them not only fit the setting/promote the lore but also were enticing options to consider.

Keahi19 10-11-07, 01:11 AM	Uhh they already have a COrmyr book. It's been out for half a year. I want a freakin Lantan book. They barely even talk about it. I think it'd be an awesome adventure to explore Lantan. But, it only ever gets footnotes. MORE LANTAN!!!! And we can only hope they keep him posted. I always liked Faerun for storyline. I consider RPG's about 65% storyline and the rest is actual fighting and rolling dice. I always like to tell a story. Faerun had an intricate story to tell. If that's lost.... that'll ruin the setting for me.

We were promised this in 2e, but then TSR tanked. :( I was really quite interested in the I have a really bad toothache and it makes me ornery because there are no dentists on this planet kit. They have studied us, like insects under glass, and have found that products that have place names in them sell more - and Cormyr happens to be on the top of the list. ;)

Even listed the types and numbers of the ships of the fleet) Look for the 2e City of Splendors accessory, shouldn't be more than $4-5 for a pdf copy over on DrivethruRPG, and the compare it with the 3e version. 3e comes off as pretty damned anemic by comparison if you ask me, and most just a pared down copy and paste from the original.
