page 159 the year 1383...where they go into a form of new body art with living crystals that enhances the wearer's talents

Where is this going? Is this a new introduction to a 4th edition mechanic or did come from a novel?

10-13-07, 04:00 PM -I don't have the novel Darkvision on me, since I am moving again, and it's packed away, but I believe at the end of Darkvision that the family that was integral to the story was planning on going back into business with those implants, however minus the evil influence of Pandorym.

Thanks...then it makes sense as it would take time to become popular. Is it related at all to psionics?

-It could be, if you wanted it to. The crystals (Vhaelan?) were only mentioned in that one novel. They don't actually have stats or anything.

10-14-07, 01:42 AM In Darkvision, the man who found the crystal and created the crystal implants was able to control the minds of people who had crystal implants installed in their bodies. Since he wasnt a psion of any type, the crystal could contain certain properties related to psionics. However, with the influence of the being Pandorym in the crystal, i think its more likely that the crystal is some sort of magnifier, but as LK said no stats have been released yet.
