Gith Invasion and Evereska [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-27-03, 01:01 PM I was thinking about using the Invasion format in Dragon, and I've seen most of the other posts on this board about the Gith invasion. I was wondering what you would think about setting up the campaign in war torn Evereska as a starting point? The way I see it, they already took a pounding from the Shade/Phaerimm war and would not be too difficult as a jumping point for Gith conquest. I have a diverse PC group, and one is a Shade Wizard. The PC's are around 8th lvl. I was thinking after or if the Gith got the foothold, they would try to take the city of Shade (Unlikely, but you never know) any suggestions or ideas?

with the damage evereska took the gith could easy take over with minimal casulties and if you want them to gain more of a foothold you could then spread them from there into cormyr which is also servearly weakened by war

08-27-03, 04:10 PM Does anyone think the Giths as presented w/the Dragon issue etc can take the City of Shade as presented in the Forgotten Realms? Lottsa figters w/ resitance vs. lottsa mages?

Tunarath by itself would kill the shades to the last man assuming none of the FR deities stepped into it (which the silly powers of FR are wont to do all the time these days).

The question is somewhat silly, it's like asking who would win, Waterdeep versus every elf on FR, assuming none besides the two parties are involved. Spell casters aside, there's an issue of numbers. The largest side here, the Gith could simply throw their forces at Shade in a war of attrition till Shade lost.

Then there's the whole racial bond with red dragons through the Rod of Ephelemon.

The gith are not stupid and will try to take minimum casulties posible

if i were running the campaign id have the gith try to establish an alliance with shade and then attack cormyr and the dale lands

This bolsters the gith invasion and saves them the horrendouse casulties they would suffer destroying shade
