| Citizen Arcane08-04-03, 05:25 PM | OK, so our group decided to kill our old Greyhawk campaign and start up a new one using Green Ronin's "Freeport: City of Adventure" set in Faerun's Nelanther Isles . I'm trying to map the gods of Freeport to their closest Faerunian counterparts and running into a couple of stumbling blocks. Has anyone else set Freeport in the Realms, and if so, who did you use for the gods of Knowledge, Pirates, Warriors and the Seas? Thanks in advance. |

I havn't used those moduals, but why not use Oghma = Knowledge (Again 1 of his portfolios) Valkur or Umberlee = Pirates (Sailors, navel combat, safty of ships, favorable winds are his portfolios) Tempus = Warriors (He has these as 1 of his portfolios) Umberlee = Seas (Oceans, waves, currents, sea winds are her portfolios) |

| Citizen Arcane08-04-03, 06:12 PM | Thanks for the help guys! Knowledge = Oghma works just fine. Warriors = Tempus also looks like it could work, with minor tweaking. Seas = Umberlee not so good. The problem is, that the Freeport sea deity is Neutral, and the priests are often leaning towards good. Umberlee just seems to be a bit too evil and destructive. Pirates = Valkur also not a perfect match. Valkur is too good. The pirate god is CN and a bit more mischievious. I may try to adapt a trickster god... I'm willing to make changes to the Faerunian gods to make them fit those is Freeport, but I was hoping that someone would be able to suggest a minor deity that would be a closer match. |
