Yaeri 08-31-07, 10:40 AM	Grand History of the Realms: This product is unique for us. Brian James, the author, first compiled the information online, which we then bought from Brian. Rich found it and lobbied to buy the pdf product and host it, but other folks thought the book would make a better print product. It's cool that a product came about in this fashion. I don't remember where exactly I found it, but I ran into this online document a long time ago. So I already have that. (It was available for download freely). At first I was certain I was going to buy the upcoming product, but the statement quoted above made me wonder if it they're just offering the near same document (which I already have). Extra pages being the shortstory (why?) and whatnot. There's still no information about the book in the preview page, so I was hoping maybe one of you knew something more?

I have thirsted for the knowledge in this book for, well, going on a year now, since they announced it last year after GenCon. In point of fact, I have wanted to know the answers to these questions for many years--long before I knew there would be a specific book to answer them. ;) I cannot wait to get my hands on this book! If there is any consolation it is that we only have a few more days to wait as it is due in September some time. Do we know the street date yet?

I will, of course, reserve my judgement up until I see THAT particular piece with my own eyes. Lost Empires did a good job in shedding a balanced light on the events. Hopefully, the Grand History goes along the same lines.

Besides the cover, it seems there are no or at least only silent naysayers of the Grand Histor of the Realms. It's good to see everyone looking forward to this product. I just hope it lives up to people's expectations.

MarkusTay63 09-04-07, 11:40 AM	No, that would be some forbidden and dusty scribe bent over tomes of ancient lore. :P ;) :D Anyhow, I too would have preferred a cover closer to Brian's original - that one I 'doctored-up' was just for laughs (and to STOP the disparaging comments the REAL cover was generating).
gang 09-04-07, 12:34 PM	I don't think I have ever looked forward to an RPG-related product as much as this one. I have the original pdf version and it is truly a work of astounding scope and magnitude. Couple that with the "new" lore, advanced timeline and it's guaranteed to be my favourite thing ever. Ever.
