| Sillastear03-02-05, 05:50 AM | Well let's say that a character has just one attack (base attack:2) and attempts to start a grapple and he completes the 4 steps described in phb 3.5. Can the character pin his opponent in the same round or he'll have to stick with the damage dealt when he achieved the hold in step 3? I was wondering whether one could pin his opponent in step 3 instead of dealing damage (as if with an unarmed strike)... Thanks! |
| createvmind03-02-05, 04:43 PM | Go to wizards rules and you'll see everything you need to know on grapple, but to answer your question if Attacker has defender grappled and wins grapple check for Pin on his turn the defender takes damage. The defender on his turn can use escape artist or opposed grapple check to get free from attacker or will continue to take pinning damage if the attacker so chooses. |
