| JShorr11-03-03, 11:58 AM | I am finding very little on the web in the way of thoughts, strategies, etc for Great Rift Skyguards. Can anyone point me to some information? Is there anything worthwhile in Dwarves Deep about the Skyguards? |
| Wooly Rupert11-03-03, 01:04 PM | Well, I just spent a few minutes flipping thru my copy of Dwarves Deep... The only thing I saw was on page 47, under the description of Eartheart: "Aerial steeds (hippogriffs are especially favored by the dwarves) often fly to and from the thousand-foot-high towers of the city walls." That was all I was able to find. Admittedly, I didn't try to re-read the whole thing, so they may have been some passage elsewhere that I missed. |
| JShorr11-03-03, 02:02 PM | Bummer... I really want to learn some more about them. Ideas, strategies, etc. I'm fairly new to D&D/FR -- this is my first character. |
| Savras11-03-03, 02:37 PM | In that case, you should start at 1st level. If you do, ignore me. Oh, and welcome, my friend! You can ask us any and all questions you have, had, and might have. Savras P.S.: Notice I didn't promise any answers...:P |
| JShorr11-03-03, 02:48 PM | I did start at first level -- Dwarven Fighter. Our travels brought us to the great rift, though, and I had the pre-requisites for Skyguard, so it was a nice fit with the story. Some people have already told me that its silly to take fighter to 5th level -- innefficient was the word they used, I believe. I'll probably take the 6th fighter level once I get a second level of skyguard. I'm learning, though. I bought a players handbook and have been trying to get a grasp on its contents. |
| Savras11-03-03, 04:26 PM | Good luck. Don't hurry with that ftr level- take it, if you must, after the Skygaurd is finished. If your DM allows you, however, just take another PrC that fits the character. If none presents itself, take ftr. Savras |

| JShorr11-04-03, 10:33 AM | Skyguards have to be dwarves.... |
| Zarffyn11-04-03, 01:13 PM | As my Dwarven Fighter6/Hammer of Moradin2 said in a recent game... "If'n Moradin meant fer Dwarves t'have wings, I'd have feathers in me beard." But more power to ya. Our party is headed towards the Great Rift (we've encountered a few detours though) and I'm looking forward to seeing some more Dwarves. :D Welcome to the wonderful world of RPing Dwarves. Here's a nice site you might want to see; "How to Swear like a Dwarf" is great, and so are the Dwarven jokes. :D The Dwarven Delving (http://delving.com/delving.html) And if you're interested, here's a concise version of my Dwarf's character sheet.
