Was anyone else a bit dissapointed that the harpers havent been given a proper write up or update in 3.0 or 3.5. Even obscure 200 person organizations such as Torm's Order of the Golden Lion have been given a write up in Champions of Valor. Why no Harpers in CoV? I understand the need to develop new content but the classic evil organizations got a huge spotlight, with amazing details and npcs in Lords of Darkness.
Was there a heroic equivalent to Lords of Darkness with the harpers in it or what?

Cheers in advance,
King Roland

No kidding. Everywhere I look in the FR materials I find people who are Harpers, or friends to Harpers, but they never tell any great detail about them. There was a softcover supplement about them for 1st or 2nd edition, but it's way out of print. I suppose I could go to my local library and read fifty novels or so to get some idea of how they work, though... nah.

FOR4 The Code of the Harpers can be got here (http://paizo.com/store/brand/forgottenRealms/roleplayingGames/2ndEdition/v5748btpy7mjq) for $4. The thing is, no new, much shorter write-up is likely to do much more than briefly summarize FOR4 and the developments in Cloak & Dagger.

-Well, the only reason I can think of as why the Harpers are not in Champions of Valor is because the Harpers aren't exactly always valorous. Being a semi-secret group of mostly roguish sorts, valor isn't exactly a word that comes to mind.

but theres a valorous feat dedicated to the harpers in the book. thats the wierd thing.

-Well, I guess we can look forward for some errata for the book at some point in the future.

Maybe we will get something about them in Powers of Fearun.

-I'm not sure. From what I have heard, PoF is going to be about running large groups (i.e, Armies and such) and Epic characters. But, the Harpers are a (somewhat) large group. I guess we're just going to have to wait and see.

I thought PoF was for high level and almost epic stuff in the realms, and Heroes of battle was for large scale combat?

The Harpers do get mention a little in CoV, they do appear in the list of other Valorous groups, but the book said that since Harpers get talked about in plenty of other books that there was no need to reprint what has already been said.

Also Harpers "intend" well, but their methods of doing so has generated negative views of the group. (as mentioned above about the rogue like actions).

I recently bought Code of the Harpers off ebay for a reasonable price. I highly recommend it to people interested in the Harpers. Cloak and Dagger is also a pretty good book, especially for the info on the rift between Khelben and the Harpers.

-Hey, you're probably right. I've never read anything myself- just going by what I remember other people saying.
