-Well, Karsus the Mad is leaving. There are a couple of reasons why (and all are mostly related), but he's made up his mind. Hopefully, he will come back in the future, after giving things a break, but who knows...

-So, I just wanted to share that with everyone, as an elder member of the boards will no longer be frequenting, and gracing us with his vast knowledge of all things Realmsian.

This is sad news. I hope he makes a quick return to reunite at this forum with his other third of the still nebulous and incomplete archwizard triumvirate. Until then, I will miss his (justified) mythic wizardly hubris.

A pity. He'll surely be missed - its always nice to see intelligent contributors around here, and he was definitely a big one.

That, and the discussions you two Karsi had with each other have always been pretty priceless entertainment ;) .

Hopefully we'll see him around again some day, but if not, its great that he graced us with his presence for a while at least.

I get off class early for *this*? The fight is now One-ta-One? No other opposition?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Seriously though, despite being one third of my greatest enemy, he truly did offer wonderful insights and never was one of the ones that shunted aside very obvious displays of n00bity, or even stupid questions. Besides the odd liking in food, I almost respected him.

A Black Rose for a Battle well-fought.

Goodbye, my Insane/Evil aquaintance.

And may the living be dead in your wake#.

Please, don't bring that back now. I am still looking for that piece of my soul that was Banished after the Karsi drank several raw gallons of Elf Essence.

The heck, bloody hells he was fun to have around and had a solid base in realmslore. Good luck to him and hopefully he'll be back.

Jaia if your conflicts with sole remaining confirmed third of the Momentary One complicates my schemes then you'll be dodging significant ports of Toril's geography starting with Shade and moving on to other items of interest.:)

Just thought you should know.

It's always sad when an old-timer Forgotten Realms leaves the community, but I guess Karsus the Mad has his own good reasons. Until then, the FR forums will survive. We're all a little more sages thanks to Karsus the Mage, and there's no reason to stop knowing the Realms better. We better be ready, though. You never know when the Momentary God will be back.

Ack! KTM was a good man. He was always the voice of reason whenever Kuje31 & I would get into our weekly slugfest when I used to game in the FR setting.

All forums are poorer for his departure. I hope he returns after getting some time away to sharpen the creative axe.

I just read a post of his... that was fast. :D

Everyone needs a break every once in awhile, I'm only here because WoW finally got boring. ;)

And I have NO interest in the 'just-released' expansion BTW. Making more of something doesn't neccesarily make for a better game. Of course, we can apply that to some of the things around here (Feats, PrCs, FORMATS, etc...)

Anyway, sorry to see you go KtM, welcome back KtM! :D

-Me and KtM have had to deal with too many of those...I'll miss having him around to help me catalogue our clones. Last time I counted, we were up to ten or eleven...:weep:

You need to develop some form of 'burn clone' spell that sacrifices a clone in exchange for a short boost in power. Might as well put those little guys to use.

Why is it the good ones who always go. First Kuje leaves ending his seemingly endless knowledge and insight into our beloved campaign setting, now another skilled sage has chosen to depart. Truely a sad day.

The reason is because we actually notice the good ones leaving. Everyone eventually leaves.

-'Cause we're not. We were the first of the Karsus' to appear, thus we are the originals. All of the others have arrived after we were already well established.

Shrug, that and you can match or beat (occasionally with annoying side effects) my Art which your clones have never demonstrated the ability to do.:)

-Well, let me be brief, then. Another clone has popped up, and one has popped up claiming to be our son. Since I don't remember having any children, I believe it is the offspring of one of our clones. I told you we should have made 'em sterile...;)
MaskedOne

02-04-07, 09:00 PM
You also should've put contingent mindfire behind those blasted mini-mythals to handle those dense enough to try and create clones or manage other alternate future generations but hey I just break mantles and fry wannabe powers, no one ever asks my opinion about their clone creation.
DreamStalker

02-04-07, 09:27 PM
At this point I think there must be a mythal somewhere that spawns out a Karsus clone every month or so. Now, where is it hidden and who was silly enough to put it up?
MaskedOne

02-04-07, 09:42 PM
You forgot a few questions? Like what to put on the tombstone, whether the guilty prefer catching solid mountains or liquid ones, what part of their mantle they want to eat first, you know the important questions for aspirant young archwizards.
DreamStalker

02-04-07, 09:45 PM
Well, these are not necessarily clones with full knowledge of the Karsus' Avatar spell. Probably more of a practical joke thing.
MaskedOne

02-04-07, 09:56 PM
Hopefully not, that would imply knowledge and power roughly equivalent to the mortal original which means going all out risks Toril and should be avoided. It doesn't negate the other important questions associated with being a clone of mightiest rock to grace the geography of Toril.
DreamStalker

02-04-07, 10:06 PM
Haha. that would be humorous if occassionally the clones it spit out were rocks.

He probably got bored with the endless junior high school theatrics and dribble like that in this very thread and moved on.

Next time someone asks a realmslore question you might want to think about whether or not your post is 1, relevant, and 2, about the realms before you post.

There is a seperate forum for the sort of thing you all are doing here, and most of you should start using it instead of cluttering up the FR boards.
