10-01-03, 11:17 AM First of all, throw the idea of "Heaven" out the window when you're talking about FR. The two are not related.

In FR, when a mortal creature, such as a Dwarf, Elf, etc., die, their soul goes to the Fugue Plane. There, several things can happen. We'll use my own Dwarf as an example. Drugen is a servant of Moradin. When he dies and enters the Fugue Plane, an agent of Moradin comes for him. Drugen recognizes the agent, and cannot be deceived into going with any other agents (choosing or being stolen is something entirely different). Drugen goes to Moradin's plane, Dwarfhome, and serves in whatever respect there that Moradin requires of him. Dwarfhome is the plane of all Dwarven dieties except for the duergar and derro gods.

Hammergrim is the home of Deep Duerra and Laduguer.

As to what exactly those planes look like, I'm afraid I don't know. Perhaps the Manual of the Planes details more? That's a sourcebook I unfortunately don't have. But if you'd like a general idea of the afterlife, try reading Finder's Bane and Tymora's Luck. You get a glimpse into the afterlives that revolve around several deities, most notably, Finder Wyvernspur.

If any of my details are incorrect, someone say so. This is just off the top of my head from what I remember from the 3E FRCS.

10-01-03, 12:23 PM Unfortunately they don't detail those particular planes in the Manual of the Planes. I think they really ought to do a Manual of the FR Planes in rich detail (with the fugue plane and all the various deities home planes).
