Hellgate Keep [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-06-07, 06:07 PM I've looked and looked for information on the origin of this location, and I can't find it.

All the histories list that Mistmaster and the Harpers destroyed this keep in 1479(DR), but the closest released product I can find to this even is the Hellgate Keep module. But the module occurs AFTER Hellgate Keep was razed by the Harpers.

I've been reading the Last Mythal series and I'm very curious to find out where the origin of this Keep was. Particularly if it was in another novel or short story. So I can read it. Just because.

End my misery. Let me know!

And see Cloak & Dagger and the Hellgate Keep module [which has a section on the history of the Keep]. There's also a line or two in the "Gatekeeper's Crystal" write-up in Volo's Guide to All Things Magical.

Well, if there is not a published story and the events simply occured in a module or two, my search is ended.

It seems like a pretty important event to current FR books to not have occured in a novel, considering Kaanyr Vhok from War of the Spider Queen, Empyrean Odyssey, and Last Mythal series all have strong ties to this event.

Was this a hugely popular module at the time?
