Trance Kuja 03-08-06, 12:33 AM	I was reading over the new Waterdeep book and was extremely confused by all the "Khelben the X posing as Khelben the Y" and " **** Arunsun who married insert here was replaced by **** Arunsun". I'd hate to go to an Arunsun family reunion cause just when I think I'm hugging Aunty Arunsun it turns out to be Great Grandpa Arunsun whoes been missing for 30 years! I'm also curious about the whole lapsing illusion spell that made Khelben look different in the new Waterdeep novel but since we can't discuss it here just point me in the right direction for info on this topic. What books should I read to get a good look at Khelben (the Chosen of Mystra one that is) in his early days of wizarding and a firm understanding of his important ancestors and descendants. I mean crap, after reading the Elminster series of books I thought he had issues but Khelben's history is really fudged up!

Lord Karsus 03-08-06, 09:16 AM	-Yeah, his history is...convoluted, to say the least. If I am not mistaken, there is a novel in the works that deals with Khelben- Blackstaff, I think it is called. If everything is set, and this novel is going to be published, I am sure we'll find some more information about the Archmage in there.

Krash 03-08-06, 06:55 PM	Heck, he's had about 4-5 wives, a bunch of kids (some who are deceased), and a huge bunch of grandkids and great grandkids and well ... you get the idea. Steven Schend has pretty much mapped out the entire Khelben Family Tree. Whether it will ever be showcased, who knows. -- George Krashos
Trance Kuja 03-08-06, 08:19 PM	Yeah.... my previous rant about his complexity was an understatement. I found and read Mr. Schend's information on him at candlekeep. All have to say about Khelben (it also applies to El to) is.... He's a complicated man. But no one understands him , but his woman.... Er, I mean women. No, wait scratch that, I don't even think his honey bunnies understand his crazy old mage butt. My only question now is, what the heck happened to his grandson and what made him want to go plane hopping? Is there a novel that details this, cause I'm always willing to go make my co-workers at the local library in charge of buying books, search high and low for D & D related material both new and old for me to purchase, no matter how hard it may be for them to find... :evillaugh
