Help with Moonshae [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm just about to start a new campaign up where I will involve some playing on the islands of Moonshae, but I have not been able to find any materials about the place in the new books after I made a product search on wizards homepage.
Is it me that have missed a book that contains information about the Islands?
Also where do I find maps to the world? Is missing some good maps of the places and the once in the books are not that big and very hard to use. In the good old days they had some atlas books and other maps but not anymore or is there something I also missed there?

And there is, of course, the FR maps made available in DRAGON -- issues #'s 287-290.

03-20-06, 10:44 AM -As Sage already stated, there is no better place to get information about the Moonshae Isles than the actual Moonshae Trilogies.

03-20-06, 11:11 AM Also check out the 2nd edition boxed set (either on ebay or at one of the various pdf-sellers: eg. rpgnow, drivethroughrpg). Or just wait for the Moonshae Sourcebook which will be published this summer. :D

03-21-06, 06:40 PM Moonsea sourcebook is coming out later this year, not the Moonshaes. I'm afraid the only info you will find on the Moonshaes is the old Moonshaes sourcebook (I'm sure its available for download) and the two trilogies. Small bits can also be found in the various editions of the FRCS, as well as Wizards and Rogues of the Realms, Warriors and Priests of the Realms, the FR Atlas, the FR Interactive Atlas CD-ROM, and I'd do a search on the WotC website. I'd swear some of the portals articles went there.

03-21-06, 06:47 PM Don't forget FA1 Halls of the High King, which goes some way towards naturalizing Doug Niles's independently conceived Moonshae Isles into the Realms.

I was afraid that there was no one book that could give me all the info I needed :weep:

The trilogies is only so much, I will be using the content of them in my campaign but I would like a more round view of the areas with races, classes and populations. But I will just have to make more leg work my self (the $ used on books saves me very much time).

But thanks again with the replys I will make good use of it.

03-22-06, 05:04 PM Bear in my mind there is a clash of two cultures, the Viking-like Northmen and the Celtic-like Ffolk. If you can get your hands on them the 2E green-bound supplements on the Viking Campaign and the Celtic Campaign could also be very helpful.

Oh, and of course there was the old, but short, Eric Boyd article in Polyhedron on the firbolg god Grond Peaksmasher.
