I am soon to be starting an online FR campaign with my fellow table-top gamers due to our conflicting work schedules and family responsibilities.

Now, i have the basic skeleton of the campaign worked out, with several places to explore and several plot-lines to work in. My players backgrounds have helped a lot with this fortunately.

I am playing the 3E updated version of Haunted Halls of Eveningstar but with my own ideas put before and after.

The following is the general story-line i have so far.

(thank you to mellomir for this idea)
the party are travelling back from their most recent adventure to their base in the city of Suzail.
the game starts mid-combat as the group are subject to a random encounter.
the party reach suzail to be given the job of transporting a war memorial statue to eveningstar in time for shieldmeet (2 days time).
the only route which is quick enough is through the kings forest, which has had numerous orc raids recently.
just as they near the edge of the forest and think they are safe from the orcs, they stop to help some human travellers who claim to have been injured in a raid from the orcs.
these travellers are freedom warriors who are against the crown and are being worked as pawns by the power of sembia.
when the pc's defeat them and reach eveningstar with the statue their is a celebration for shieldmeet.
during the festivities, the pcs either receive a message from an unknown man which will have some cryptic clue to go to the haunted halls for the answers they require, or they are attacked by some sembian assassins, who will have paperwork on them telling them to stop the pc's from going near the halls as they may disrupt the operation.

This is obviously the hook to get them to the halls. In the halls, they will find evidence that the freedom warriors and people with links to the sembian authorities are close to closing their grip on Cormyr and taking over.
other hooks will either lead them to riviors keep (a base of operations for the freedom warriors), or a dungeon of my own making which holds several Comyrian nobles as prisoners and also has evidence that people in the Sembian Embassy in Suzail are being used by representatives of the fire knives to destroy the Comyrian nobility forever.
The final encounter will be the party versus several fire knives asassins and Sembian warriors in The Suzail "common" (the city square) at midnight.

one of my pc's is a cormyrian noble who has had his rank stripped of him and given to smebian novles while he was exiled.

any comments on this?? any ideas to flesh it out a bit or help me out?? is this too linear?

I'm also doing a Cormyrian campaign and will have to steal your idea. I'm starting my campaign right smack in the middle of the war thingy with the PC's having to work gaurd detail on a supply line. They will be at Tilverton when it is destroyed. If you are starting at lowe levels Dungeon magazine has some excellent material that can be easily incorporated into a Cormyr campaign.

I'm also going to run an encounter in which the PC's are in an audience with a noble of high stature and an elite assassin squad is sent to assassinate the noble and the PC's will have to fight them off right then and there. You could throw something like that in.
