08-01-07, 08:47 PM i've been trying to create a Forgotten Realms campaign based on the descendents of a terrible and cruel half-demon general (served the three fiends during the Weeping War 711-714 DR) As per family tradition (and a freak of nature omen come true) he and his fraternal brother are to inherit the family heirlooms; a suit of armor and his dreaded blade, crafted by the Eriynes of Baator.

the firstborn (or first-twin) is overly jealous of his lot (having only received the armor) and attempts to slay his brother, who flees to the City of Skuld, and takes up as an assassin, living incognito as he plots his revenge, and to take back the chair of house Hrun (the original progenitor of that name) In time, after awakening the power of the sword (and murdering quite a handful of good-doers ;-)) the secondborn returns to take his brother's life and assume leadership of House Hrun. anymore and i'll be spoiling the plot :-P

My only problem: i'm new to the world of Dungeons and Dragons (my boyfriend introduced me to the game a few months ago) and I'm having difficulties over what books i should use for reference. I already own the Players Handbook, Dungeonmaster Book and the Monster Manual, as well as the Faerun Campaign Manual but i feel somewhat shorthanded, because they barely touch on the histories of the Realms.

I've a clear mind what my characters look like (Ze'ev, the secondtwin looks like Mads Mikkelesen, my god and savior) and the plot is solid, but i'm lacking on history of the realms, and want to avoid plotholes or continuity flaws, since i'd like to novelize it (for my own amusement.)

Any suggestions are welcome and greatly appeciated

sincerely
Gabby!:D

-This kind of information is spread out across a whole multitude of sources, 1e, 2e, and 3e. However:

-That is Brian's website. If you can wait a few more months, A Grand History of the Realms will be published, which is basically everything on his website, plus more.
