My Cleric of Tymora now has the epic leadership feat and I`d like to start detailing his followers (our DM gives us pretty free reign to make our own, long as we dont go overboard).
However I cant for the life of me find my Epic level handbook, so If anyone could tell me how many followers (of what lvl), you get with a leadership score of 34 I would really appreciate it :)

Isn't leadership the best damn feat? I try to have every character I play have a high CH, so I can make the most out of Leadership?

The Leadership feat was, in AD&D, an ability that characters gained on reaching name level (usually 9th), an inherent part of the path of high-level characters. 3E split it off as one of its vaunted 'options'.

Of course, I'd use any such rule as rough guidelines as to how many followers are gained: how it actually works should be based on actual play, the world itself and what the character does there.

Leadership makes for great roleplay and takes care of alot of excess treasure, Darrian I agree with you it is awesome. Especially when you are 6th level, cha 18 and have 5 1st level chars following you around.

Hey I don't have the 3.5 DMg is it true that now the followers can have a character class??

Yes it is true. Your followers can have character classes.

And then the first evil wizard you encounter fireballs you and your party for at least 5d6 points of damage and all your followers are dead.

Well, you don't have to actually bring all your followers with you. Even your cohort is an optional addition to your group.

Yep... A player of mine is so excited about his freshly gained Leadership Feat. I told him that dragging his followers every he goes is not the most sensible thing to do (considering that he is ECL 11 and they are all lvl1). But he does not want to listen to me.

It's not like I am going to go out of my way to kill off his followers, but I certainly won't stay my hand, when it comes to it. :D

But the Feat is still very nice if you want to organise yourself a Guild, a Town or some kind of official organisation/place with loads of people doing your will.

Indeed, heck I`ll be having a town of more than 600 people at least, I recon as word spreads and our recruitment starts up there wil be plenty more, its going to put a hole in my gold stores big enough for a dragon to walk through :D.

The leadership feat is very nice since it does give lots of oppertunities for roleplaying and campain development, though for it to have the greatest effect the campaign needs to be adapted for it.
Many players look at the Leadership feat as simply a way of having their own little army to take with them on adventures, speaking as a DM myself that is not very wise if you intend to hold on to them for later.
Your lvl 12 rouge might be abel to avoid the blackdragons acid breath, but the dozen or so followers behind her probably wont, whops your empty on followers :P

My DM hates the leadership feat, preferring that the players RP to attract cohorts instead of automatically gaining them with a feat. It makes sense I guess, though it would be nice to have a little buddy around for amusement purposes. :(

Actually the only time I granted the Leadership feat, it was only after some RP prerequisites of mine were fulfilled. I don't think that I would ever grant the Feat without some good RP to implement this "in game".

So I do not substitute RP to the Feat but use it as an unspoken prerequisite.

But don't you do that with most feats?

As a DM, I always try to make my players roleplay for every advantage thay get. It is one of the better tools at my disposal to encourage role playing.
