| Rogue Shadows07-13-03, 09:08 AM | Ugh. The High and Mighty Moderator Gods will probably descend on me any second now and smite me, then, because they actually work for a real company which is very large, drive me toward financial ruin. Oh well. C'est la vie. But I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this, 'cause I'm not sure if it belongs in the novel section. Before I begin, Hi. I'm Chris. I'm both new to Forgotten Realms, and an old timer. I'm new because I only bought the campaign book last wensday. I'm an old timer because I've been buying the novels for some three years now. Okay, now that that's over with... Quesion: We all know by now the stories of Drizzt Do'Urden and are, at minimum, passingly familier with Liriel Baenre*. And, from what I've gathered from the War of the Spider Queen series thus far, the characters in that are noble ilythiiri, or at least high-ups. So, I was wondering: are there any books out, or planned to come out, that will give us a glimpse at the lives of everyday, commoner drow? It would be interesting to see. I mean, think about it: The Houses war, but the Houses have many, many rescorces, and also every House has at least one preistess and something akin to an army. But it doesn't run that way with the commoners. So does anyone know? ------------------------------------------------------------ *As long as I'm on that...Baenre. How is that pronounced? I've been saying "Baen-ray", but it's probably "Baen-er", isn't it? |

And a lot are common artisans and labourers. I personally imagine that they are pretty much like any other peasants, though perhaps a bit more educated, possibly with real class levels in addition to Expert levels, and certainly more ambitious and with a tendency toward evil not seen among surface races. -Kelida |
