01-09-07, 12:24 PM hi everybody, the thing is this, i am thinking in buying the players guide to faerun, but all my core rule books are 3.0 edition, would this be a problem cause maybe the player guide to faerum make reference to rules only included on the 3.5 core rule books

01-09-07, 12:53 PM Most of Player's Guide to Faerūn is devoted to adjusting the rules content of the FRCS to 3.5 rules. So if you're using 3E rules, the largest part of the book will be useless. There's additional material there, some of which you'll have to adjust back to 3E by consulting the 3.5 SRD.

Is the book useful? Hell yes; it is very useful.

However, you do have a slight problem, as your books are 3.0 and PGtF is 3.5. But, all the recent material coming out is going to be 3.5 so even if a future book looks useful to you, using the logic from the post above will basically keep you from purchasing any other books that you might like.

Are they correct? Well, yes; a lot of the material presented in the book will be unuseable, but if you really like running it in 3.0, then you could just as easily convert and make adjustments to change 3.5 to 3.0.

01-09-07, 02:49 PM PGtF is only useful if you play 3.5, really. The planar info. presented there is so little there's no chance of ever actually adventuring on them. The PrCs are mostly reprints, which updated them from 3.0 to 3.5. Same for the spells. There's a smidgen (as in, a few pages) of rules on Epic and Exalted/Vile information in the Realms, too.

Faraer is quite right.
