Would anyone still dust off their second edition books and use them for a campaign in a second edition Dungeons and Dragons game, say in a Play-by-Post or Play-By-Email game? I’ve an itching to start one (A Dungeon Romp in Faerun) sometime in August and well I’m trolling for opinions and players.

I would but I hate THAC0 for breakfast. *du dum Tshi*

Seriously though, I think that the lore of 2nd ed FR is better detailled than the 3/3.5 ed but the rules of the system were kinda sucky... I remember when 3rd edition came out I was amongst the one that wanted to keep the old 2nd ed... Then I found out how great 3rd ed was.

Well, if you are missing a player at one point I wouldn't mind.

One of my buddies was talking about running a 2ed run through the Ruins of Myth Drannor, I think it would be a nice little trip down nostalgia lane. The one thing about 2ed is though, you almost have to have high stats cause lets face it, a 14 in 3ed, pretty good, a 14 in 2ed, absolute crap.

Question, what are the character building guildlines. Are we allowed to use the Complete X Handbook and/or various other sources.
