Sarawen 06-14-04, 02:35 PM	Help me, I really am stuck and would like to get into gaming but i have one major problem (well two if you count not having a game group, but i'm working on that!) (:]) The only core rule books i can find use v.3.5, and so can anyone tell me what this means, and also if it is compatable with the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting? P.S Does the FR Campaign setting use 3rd Edition or am i a total idiot?

The FR Campaign Setting used 3e rules, however, the updates to many of the 3e sourcebooks were printed in the Player's Guide to FR which is 3.5.
Tharamil 06-17-04, 01:54 AM	Greetings and well met Yes you can use the FR with 3.5. In fact most groups are using FR more than anything else. Some points to remember replace all the dieties in 3.5 with the FR dieties. this means that players have to take a FR god. The region feats may confuse some players because they will need to know about the regions you play in. so prepare some background info for them before you start. Magic in FR is more common and everybody seems to have items. I have DM for quite some time now, if you want tips just reply Till swords part:)
Sebberoth 07-11-04, 01:52 PM	I'll give ye one simple peice of advice for getting a gaming group together put out some advertisments around your school/place of work or whatever and you should get a vagually small group together, it worked for me anyhows, and DMing is great you get such a sense of power becoming the onipitent overlord of an entire world for all eternity (or an hour and half at least, then I retunr to being a social outcast sitting in a small room, but it's still power), all alternitivly you could just talk to your friends and hopefully the'll give D&D ago this also worked so it was worth the effort, anyhows good luck, now to round this off a quote from someone of myname sake 'I will head north nad become one with the planet'
