Ideas and Suggestions for my Next Campaign [Archive] - Wizards Community

First off: If you know Dan H. in Hawaii, and you plan on gaming with him in the future, DON'T READ THIS!!!

Here's what I have in my head so far (I haven't spent much time on this yet.)

Things in parens are still highly subject to change.

Central premise:

The good deities have been (imprisoned) by the evil ones, being led by a loose alliance between (1) and (2). The other evil deities are helping. Some are willingly and knowingly taking part, others are either left out of the loop, or tricked into being involved.

The PC's are eventually going to try and free their deities (or ally with the evil ones, both will be interesting.)

Ideas:

- Spells will sometimes go awry (pc's and npc's both). Nothing too big at first, maybe a duration or power difference. (Maybe the gods granting these spells right now aren't that familiar with them?)

- Slowly have things in adventures that point to what's really going on. (small warnings, signs out of whack, etc.)

- Eventually, once the PC's are aware of what's going on around them, things start to heat up as they will probably be the main threat to the evil d's plans.

- All sorts of involvement. Governments in certain areas are in on it. Cults, people, maybe even entire races are in on it.

Anyway, post ideas. I like brainstorming with people, it helps me out quite a bit. Thanks! <that's the coolest emoticon ever

06-26-04, 01:16 AM Big problem with the deities being locked away.

If Mystra is one of them, the WHOLE Wolrd is now at the very least a Wild Magic zone. About the only magic that would work would be Shadow Weave Magic.
