| Klyden11-09-04, 11:00 PM | If the following material including new artwork (for the addtional features not found in the original) and 3.5 revisions were available in a new edition of Players Guide to Faerūn, would you still buy the old version? Or would you go with the brand new version? Please feel free to speak your mind and express your opinions. Please don't be rude or mean though. Being rude and mean will result in bad karma and nobody likes bad karma. | chme11-10-04, 12:28 AM | If it's FR. I'd buy it. I'm a FR junkie. :) I might complain about it but I'd buy it! I'm a junkie too, so I guess I'd buy it. I would never ever recommend my players to get it though, which is the more interesting question imo. What each of my players need is an appetizing, non-spoiler book of Realmslore, rich with images of faerunian culture, not a pile of rules. The older 'Player's guide to the Forgotten Realms Campaign' is *much* more like it. Why would you want monster stats in a player's guide? I was very disappointed in the first Player's guide to Faerun, and recommended to my players that they do *not* buy it. I would be outraged if wizards spent time on making yet another, similar one. |
| Lashan11-10-04, 07:00 AM | I think I would be a fool and buy a book of all the prestige classes that were updated. Of course, what they need to do is wait for all the class splat books to come out, and then release one that has all the old FR ones and some of the newer ones changed to match FR. |
| Kazzaroth Pan'theon11-10-04, 09:29 AM | Well, I would buy newer version for as quick referee book. But I would buy the old one because of the seek information in it. But if all is combined into single book and better art work, then I quess buy the single book than half dozen others :P. |
| maynardjkeenan11-10-04, 11:36 AM | I would buy PGtF if it had short info about important sites and regions a native of the realms would know about. I would not buy a "player's" guide to faerūn if it had prestige classes, monsters and crap like that. That would be the DM's Guide to Faerūn... |
