Info on Divine Orders of Faerun? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-15-05, 11:33 PM		The thing is, a lot of those religions don't have specific strongholds or power or leaders. Some do, but those are more the exception in the polytheistic land of Faerun. A lot of the lore would come from 2E, in any event.

If I had more books near me, I could actually help more on this thread.

I know that Torm has a lot of faith in Tantras. Mystra is kind of spread all over, with both archmages and high priests (and Chosen and the Magister) serving her; the same can be said of Azuth, who has archmages of each school of magic serving his faith as leaders. I believe that Mielikki has a very powerful Druid follower in the Emerald Enclave. Lathander has a nice temple in Waterdeep.

For Bane, I would say that the head is Fzoul out of Zhentil Keep, though Bezantaur (Thay) also has a nice following of Bane. This city also holds powerful temples of Shar, Loviatar, Cyric, and Umberlee. One may consider the head of Cyric's faith to be his Seraph of Lies; the Pasha of Calimshan also follows him. Darkhold is currently held by Cyricists, I believe.

Talona's head of clergy may well be the Rotting Man, out of the Great Dale.

Auril is anywhere in the North, really. Not so sure about Malar. Talos hasn't really had much attention, religion-wise, but one of his most holy sites is in Amn, I believe, and he has a lot of presence in the Vilhon Reach.

The Temple of Old Night in Calimport is the oldest and most powerful seat of Shar's power, though with 3E's advent of the city of Shade, things might be a little different in the rankings of her clergy, Faerun-wide, now.

As far as stats go for any of the above? I really can't say if any have been statted in 3E besides Fzoul.
