| Trydan09-14-04, 04:41 PM | I've just noticed an article on the WotD D&D site entitled What is the Realms (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frx/whatis). :uh-huh: I mean, my English is poor, but surely it should be "What are the Realms"? Or have I misunderstood something here? |
| Mystery Man09-14-04, 04:43 PM | In context "is" is the correct use the word. It's way more better. No wut I meen? |
| diaglo09-15-04, 03:21 PM | what do you expect Elminster's Int stat is only supragenius level.... if he used proper grammar and punctuation it would be in the Epic lvl area... |
| AvengedMutablegenus09-15-04, 05:00 PM | Because the Realms is referring to the campaign setting not a multitude or realms. It's almost just like saying "What is Faerun?" Making " What are Faeruin" incorrect. Acutally a better example is like instead of "What are the United States?" Instead of "What is the united states?" (Correct) |
| Faraer09-16-04, 11:08 AM | 'The Realms' is correct either as a singular or as a plural, and both are attested. And this introduction to the Realms (http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/2566/wellmet.htm) is better. |
