Is Neverwinter Nights anything like the board version? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-04-05, 10:47 AM I played the computer game: Neverwinter Nights for a long time and after that i came in touch with the "board RPG world". I decided to buy the D&D basic set and i want to know if it looks a little like the Forgotten Realms game i mentioned above. And i don't mean the storyline or characters but the system , the rules , the fun etc.

11-04-05, 11:42 AM I got my start with NWN, and while the board version is a little more complex, the answer is yes.

Now, in my opinion, the basic box set is moot. You'll need at least the PHB to see the connection in the rules and the FRCS for the flavor.
