Most of the books have 3.5 updates, so thats just silly.

What, your DM doesn't want you spending two feats to fly? ;)

Books and their game content do not become "illegal" just because the edition of the game (frivilously) changed by a decimal point. Unless a piece of 3E content has been specifically revised, reprinted, or rescinded by a newer 3.5 publication then it is perfectly useable in any 3.0/3.5 D&D game

Well, a DM has the right to bar 3.0 stuff. However I do believe RoF may be considered part of 3.25 by chance since features (I could be wrong thou). Some of the stuff in the book has been changed in other books (like the completes) but the Planetouched feats were left alone and aren't that bad to be honest. Its no more powerful then the stuff in 3.5 so isn't really an issue.

where's "fauren"?

It's the Bizarro world of Faerun ;)

And speaking as a DM who's been running the Realms for about 19 years, Races of Faerun was the first 3.5 book before 3.5 officially came out. So basically, yes, if material in the book has not been updated elsewhere, then it is still legal and has no need for an update (at least not at this time possibly).

Your DM does have the right however to say if they don't want to use anything from 3.0, but as stated earlier, that's just silly and cuts about a good 40% of the material on the Realms.

Quoted for Truth. I still like to pull out some 1st and 2nd edition material for planning for my games.

I was working on a module for Neverwinter Nights, and pulled info from earlier editions.

Just open up yours [or his] copy of Player's Guide to Faerun on page 5 [Previous FR products] and show him what it said about Races of Faerun. And you can show him what it said about Magic of Faerun and few other sources.

Or even better: get Power of Faerun and show him that it reference Faiths & Pantheons as source for divine PrC's.

Or just tell him that the WizO in charge of the RPG Forums disagrees with him. And then tell him to take it up with Doxxie. :evillaugh

Just be polite when you say it though. If your DM still does not allow stuff just enjoy the game with what you have.

I say you spit in his eye and find a new group, but thats just me. ;)

Are they going to reprint Races of Faerun?Yes, but they are going to put a big 3.6 on the cover, so you're going to have to throw out EVERYTHING you own. :D

(Just kidding on both counts... spitting is SO unsanitary. Just give him disgruntled looks occasionally)
